It’s not that often that the official backstory of an Air Jordan retro release is revealed, so we may never know the true inspiration for this brand new Air Jordan VIII colorway. Suns, Knicks, and even Bobcats connections have been thrown at there to date. We’re going with the first one for now, as the Air Jordan VIII at large is actually relevant to said color combo what with the Suns/Bulls matchup that took place in the 1993 NBA Finals. Get the latest set of images on this “Suns” Air Jordan VIII after the jump and then tell us if you’ve got anymore speculative nicknames you want to slap onto this May release.

I'm liking these. More interested in these than the "bugs" with the extreme hype and such. Hoping these slip through the cracks and I can walk in and pick these up, no-line style. lol
how could it be suns, it says deep royal blue for the color? theres no purple which i feel like would be the real indicator of a "suns" colorway....who knows though
If its the suns influence then jb is probably doing a once a year tribute to a team mj messed up perhaps. A la he cavs 4s last year. Just speculating
@SaggyBerries lets keep it basketball lol
@SaggyBerries Never thought of that. Though I think the blue isn't dark enough, 'tis possible.
@S09442 Yeah it is a concept color scheme the 8's were the shoe that MJ wore during the 93 finals vs the suns. Except then he was wearing the black and red playoff version so these pay homage to chuck
