Air Jordan IV “Green Glow” – Sample vs. Release Version Comparison
The “Green Glow” Air Jordan IV apparently had a little bit of a tweaking before the final retail version. Shown here is the style that you can expect in stores, one that utilizes a two-toned grey upper in the place of the more uniform tonal-grey looks that fell on the early samples. We’ve seen little switches like this go down countless times before, whether it be thanks to a factory blunder (the Air Jordan IX “Black Bottom”) or just a last minute alteration (the Air Jordan XI Low). See both both versions after the jump, keep in mind that the two-toned is the one you can expect in stores, and then give us a heads up in which Air Jordan IV “Green Glow” you prefer.

The samples are 10 times better looking. Whoever tweaked them to look like they do now should be fired.
I like the samples WAAAY better. I'm almost exclusively an og or Bulls colorway guy, but I was actually considering copping them. Now it's an easy pass for me.
I prefer the release version. The lighter tone of grey on the toe cap makes the shoe pop more and brings it together.
The samples are kinda plain, and I'm really liking the release. The only problem I have with it is the fact that the midsole is white. I'm not feeling it. Black, or even a dark grey would make them look that much better.
Wow, Some people need to go back to school. Lol On another note I like both, not disliking either or. I'd buy either one.
All dis time I fort the sample was the release version ..the samples in comparison make them look weak as fuck ..damn jb fukd up with dat ..because of dat extra white bit dey gna dirty real fast
The only thing I would change on the release is the laces, but I rather the samples there was nothing wrong with them why change it....
release > VULGAR PIECE OF SHIT
those uppers... pfffff, at least they dindt put some patent leather on it!
I like the grey mid-sole & one tone of grey for the uppers versus the white mid-sole & the 2 tone uppers. But the GID sole on the release is way better. I also prefer the black lace wings versus the grey ones on the sample. Thumbs up for going with more GID sole!
It's funny hearing you guys bitch about the differences between the sample and release version and when it's time to copp and you can't get a pair, will be the same guys bitching that, "man I couldn't get a pair sold out everywhere!" Women always find something to complain about!
There's a reason the unreleased version is called a sample!!!
Seriously guys ? Those samples are a joke !!! I love the change . They can be a summer time shoes ..
It looks childish now like JB did to much on the release pair. The sample was fire they messed up again
retail are thank god way better, I love the grey part, as on the fears. but not totally diggin them anyhow
Don't get me wrong, I'm still gonna grip a pair regardless, they still clean as! but the sample pair.. TUFF! would've been the smarter choice to go with the sample pair imo. but damn! theyre tryna throw that white mid sole on all the 4s now gah damn! jordan should try diversifying their new color way drops instead of making them all look similar.
The samples are far better IMO. I like the extra gray on the sample to balance out the bright green. Plus, they try to throw white midsoles on everything and it's becoming played to me.
These are a must cop, sleep on these and you will be kicking yourself in the ass.... Sample is nice , but the full green bottom sets them of.... Toe box looks better on the sample though.....
i like either one i think the sample had a lil too much grey tho with the mid sole being grey too but it still looks good, the white mid sole looks good too but kinda looks a lil cheap like skilledhooper82 said but it depends on how you rock them that matters so Id cop.
Samples are obviously better but it'll can settle fa da retail one... Da sample version would probably b QS anyway
Retail version is way better, glad they didn't release the sample version it would have been a mistake. The white midsole givings it more pop to the eye. I think I will definitely will cop these!
The Light Grey tone makes the shoe look weak and feels like JB is just trying to tie in it's releases(with other two tonal releases "Stealth" IV etc) I've wanted the sample since I first saw the "leaked" pictures. Now it's a definite NO will hold onto my money.
@Dixon Syder agreed
@JackSpain only you and those like you whine and complain about something and still get it, the final is trash and will not be copped so you enjoy your green glows
@AGreSiVo The release version is way batter! ;)
