With the baseball world focusing its eyes on Citi Field tonight, Nike Sportswear turned to on of its neighboring structures as the inspiration for this Nike Air Griffey Max 1 colorway. Inspired by the globe sphere in Flushing Meadows Park, this Griffey Max 1 utilizes a Black/Grey/Blue colorway with speckled midsoles and the graphic of the skewed grid on the upper. The sick Nike NYC logo above the globe finishes off this amazing release, which now has a confirmed release date of July 27th at select Nike Sportwear retailers. Check out the HD gallery below and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more release info on upcoming Nike footwear.

I miss the days when they kept the Griffeys simple and fresh. This is not the way to go. Well at least they don't have patent leather.

Naw man Nike killed it, they should've left the upper black instead of changing the upper to grey!

They're alright, but I really like the Trainer SCs over them
