Pictured is the “Texas” Nike KD 6, a sneaker that pays tribute to Durant’s time in the Lone Star state. The sneakers feature the all-important orange across the upper, along with a green glow speckle treatment meant as a representation of the state’s starry nights. This particular KD 6 release is one that will be accompanied by a couple of apparel pieces to make your kit complete-a backpack and matching Nike KD Elite Crew socks. See the shoes and the gear with us after the break and remember that the Nike KD 6 “Texas” is releasing on October 10th, 2013.

Kevin Durant’s collegiate days in Texas left a lasting impact on him. Texans’ friendliness and hospitality, combined with the unique ‘keep it weird’ nature of Austin, made an impression he’ll never forget.

Paying tribute to Texas, the KD VI Texas colorway continues the deep storytelling that began when KD launched his sixth Nike signature shoe in his hometown of Seat Pleasant, Maryland, in June.

“Austin was like a home away from home from the second I arrived in 2006 – I loved it there,” said Durant.

Bringing the Texas big sky to life, the shoe includes a speckled upper representing stars. Burnt orange pays tribute to KD’s beloved Longhorns, while the shoe pops with green glow colored details.

The KD VI Texas launches in limited quantities on Oct. 10 at select retail locations and Nike.com. The Nike KD Elite Crew socks and KD backpack, both matching the KD VI Texas shoe, are also available beginning Oct. 10.
