The Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star in this camouflage colorway might seem like a ploy to line up with recent camo obseesions, but this sneaker actually has a long history of donning these sort of prints. You could grab Chucks in camo as far back as 1984, although it’s worth mentioning that the pattern here isn’t exactly same as the one found there. Converse Pro Leather Skate – Oyster Grey

converse pro leather skate oyster grey Converse Pro Leather Skate Oyster Grey

The Converse Pro Leather as a skate sneaker? That might sound a little strange at first, but folks have long been skating in SB Dunks or even Jordans during the 1′s first run, so the idea of rocking a basketball silhouette for boarding purposes shouldn’t shock you so much. Newly released for this All Star silhouette is this oyster grey colorway, which resists the urge to go bright for the summer and instead sticks with a calmer colorway. See some additional photos of them after the click and keep in mind Concepts has them in stock today.

stussy converse skidgrip Stussy x Converse Skidgrip

The last time we checked in on Stussy they were back together with Nike SB working on a couple of Trainerendor silhouettes. This time around they’re not messing with that wing of Nike, but they are keeping it in the Swoosh umbrella with their Converse team up. The legendary skate/street imprint has had their way with the Converse Skidgrip, and the result is a black pair with a little bit of contrast white stiching, some checkerboard detailing, and the standard double-S logo. Continue reading to see what shots are available on them now and tell us in the comments if you like what you see.

There are more sneakers using zippers these days, whether it’s for ease of entry or just to look rugged and cool.  John Varvatos has pushed the look to the point where others adopted it and now he’s back at it again.  These new Converse by John Varvatos CT Zip Hi pairs have more of an aesthetic merit, as the sole purpose of the zippers that wrap black and olive green pairs is to reveal a contrasting inset.  These are about as thrilling as canvas sneakers get (though a red leather pair would be simply phenomenal), so slide through the photos below, then say that these are the one(s) at shops like Feature.

In certain parts of the world, the word ‘crepe’ has become synonymous with sneakers just like ‘trainer’.  The footwear world’s first introduction to a set of soles named after those arm-breakingly delicious delicate French pancakes was a bit more specific, referencing specifically those spongy silicon soles that have made a cameo on this latest take on the Converse Jack Purcell lowtop.  These pairs have the gummy stuff applied to the Purcell’s typically vulcanized soles, which leads to an application along the lines of leather applied to a cup-midsole.  It’s certainly one of the more unique expressions of both the crepe sole and the JP lowtop silo, so click in for more shots and look for these in store starting Saturday.
