Spike Lee’s made quite the impression on the sneaker game, hasn’t he? While his tenure as an Air Jordan spokesperson was short-lived in comparison to the entire span of the Air Jordan, he made his mark in (arguably) the best stretch of releases – the Air Jordan III-VI – while making a comeback with the Air Jordan XX. The Son Of Mars is a tribute of sorts, encapsulating those five models in a finely-tuned hybrid model, and it finally arrives in a classic Bulls colorway after initially releasing in ‘Pop Art‘ and ‘Club Purple‘, Best Son Of Mars colorway yet? Find out on June 2nd, when these are scheduled for a release, but flip through Jordan Brand’s official images below for a closer look.

When we look back on the early 2000s from twenty, fifty or even a hundred years from now, we’ll note how often and how seamlessly Nike Sportswear was able to integrate various traditional boot designs into their iconic Air Force 1 silhouette. Models including the ‘Workboot’ edition, ‘Duckboot’ hybrids and even the ‘Foamposite’ Air Force 1 Highs have an undeniable rugged quality about them, but might the above pictured pair work its way into our collective consciousness as ‘the’ Air Force 1 Boot? The Nike Air Force 1 High DCN Military Boot is a definitive statement on the AF1′s sturdy build, this Timberland-leaning ‘Wheat’ design perhaps the ‘toughest’ of all the XXX Anniversary ‘Pearl’ collection drops. These officially arrive at NSW retailers like Social Status tomorrow, so click through to see more images and let us know if these are the best Air Force 1 Boots to date.

Among the reasons the Air Max+ 2009 is considered a modern classic is its pioneering use of a totally uncaged full-length Max Air unit. This innovation can be seen as the culmination of decades of work, starting with Frank Ruby’s original encapsulated Air bubbles, Tinker’s Air Max 1 ‘mistake’ and another leap represented by the silhouette pictured above. 2006′s Air Max 360 (I) was the first to give us Max Air from heel to toe in just a single airbag, so it’s particularly interesting to see that model’s upper paired with the advanced cushion for which it was a stepping stone. The Nike Air Max 2006 Leather applies a luxurious build of this streaky design and places it atop a Sport Red sole for that impeccable ‘bred’ mix that’ll have these building up ‘sleeper hit’ status now that they’re available at Nike Sportswear dealers like Titolo.

Each year around the time school lets out and the NBA wraps up its postseason tournament, sneakerheads can’t help but remember that this was the season when Michael Jordan cemented his untouchable legacy. Each of the full campaigns Mike played in the ’90s resulted in a championship ring, and with his Chicago Bulls teammates united in matching MJ’s black sneakers, the pair pictured above reminds us that one of His Airness’ greatest strengths was raising the game of role players sometimes known as his ‘Jordanaires’. The Jordan Son of Mars has a ‘Scottie Pippen’ in the GS edition as well as PS and TD-sized editions for the Steve Kerrs and John Paxons of your family, you know, the ones who don’t quite contribute equally yet still help to define your success. Outfitting the fam in ‘Bred’ Son of Mars will be possible when this expansive run drops next Saturday, June 2nd; will you be adding a kids pair to your own purchase from shops like CitySole?

The most recently previewed pair of Jordan Son of Mars apparently takes its golden-accented cool good looks from Michael’s brief tenure in the nation’s capital, but the color scheme in which His Airness’ cast his immense legacy isn’t about to be left out. Quite to the contrary, in fact, as the ‘Bred’ Son of Mars is the next out the gate in just under two weeks. This patent-mudguarded pair looks especially ‘Stealth’-y, and with a monster drop like the ‘South Beach’ LeBron 9 Elite also dropping next Saturday, June 2nd, how likely are these to fly under the radar? It’s hard to imagine a black and red colorup on a popular Jordan sitting on shelves too long, so take a moment to check these out below before you begin plotting on your cop. Photos: SneakerBox Clyde

The recent ‘What the Max’ drop showed off the Nike Air Max+ 95 360‘s incredible capacity for intricate colorblocking, its tiered look the next logical step from the mass of gradient designs that continue to typify the original AM95 silhouette. Take that step in a slighty different direction, and you end up with a design like this new Air Max 95 BB, one that sees new potential in the upper’s distinct ‘ribs’ thanks again to the power of Hyperfuse construction. So instead of a gradient marking the entire length of ‘muscle fibers’, these grey and Volt 95 360s apply a fade to each of the neon columns laid atop a base that offers a grey-dient in its own right. This is next gen ‘Neon’ and it’s available now at select Nike Sportswear shops like Mr. R. Photos: ITSB

The 360 Max Air influence has spread upon the classic ACG catalog as we get a first look at two sample colorways of the Nike Air Max Terra Sertig, previewed here on Sneaker News a few short weeks ago. It matches the rugged yet stylish appeal of the Terra Sertig re-constituted with the all-sport Max Air sole, and despite a rather seamless final product, many of our readers preferred the original to the new ‘Air’ package seen here. The two you see here are just samples, according to Asian retailer Passover, so whether or not these will in fact release during the intended Holiday 2012 season is yet to be finalized, so check out both shoes below and let us know if these actual photos change your mind.

Their signature injected foam sandals that are so popular they’ll move units on impulse at your local grocery store, but Crocs aren’t exactly your typical sneakerhead fare. Even without a direct street-level endorsement, the overwhelming popularity of the various Croslite designs has influenced major brands including Nike and Puma. And today we can add a company that’s right in the middle of those two majors: a German company who also happens to be Nike’s biggest competitor. So with the Solar Soft and Injex well in our rear view, it’s somewhat surprising that it took this long to see something like the adidas Originals Beachstar. A shotgun-perfed EVA upper hides a comfy neoprene sock that makes these an easy off and on for those activity-filled summer days, and you’ll find a variety of vibrant colors available later this month. via EK
