Nike All Conditions Gear just knows that just because the spring fashion season begins in January doesn’t mean you won’t need rugged boots as the weather starts to get warmer. The Nike ACG Lava Dunk High is a model that you can use to add a strong side to your wardrobe, though this suede construction is probably best reserved for days and conditions other than the sloppiest. This new black pair adds red laces to match the two-toned setup on olive and beige pairs we showed you back in early December, and all of them should be available at US Nike Sportswear shops by the end of this month. Nike All Conditions Gear took advantage of the momentum created by 2010′s Lunar MacLeay and parlayed that into what’s gotta be the best variety of boots since the golden era, and perhaps in the entire history of the Swoosh’s outdoor division. Models like the Zoom Meriwether, Lava Dunk High and Air Max Conquer ACG have the kind of visual appeal that means you can remain stylish even when the weather threatens your favorite sneakers, this latest release exactly the kind of thing you want working for you when the snow hits the fan. The Nike ACG Manoa is perhaps the simplest execution of all of ACG’s current boot lineup, its smooth, sweeping lines vaguely similar to the classic Goadome, but without any of the visible Max Air cushioning in its soles. This olive green edition adds black and bright orange accents to nail that hunter vibe, and they’re available now at select Nike Sportswear retailers like Oneness.

While the Nike Air Approach certainly is a hybrid, it’s one of the more conservative of hybrids in the Swoosh repertoire, mixing up two models within the same design wing of Nike ACG. The respective models, the Nike Air Magma and the Nike Lava Dome, both have a similar design and approach to materials and the outcome is something like the swoosh and segmented set up from the Lava Dome appropriated onto the overall shape and height of the Air Magma. The result feels pretty natural, with the Nike Air Approach Mid fitting in as a hybrid model that just makes sense. Overshadowed in recent months by boot variations on the Air Force 1 and Dunk, Nike Sportswear’s third standby classic basketball model has come through with a rugged look of its own for the cold weather season. The Nike Blazer Mid ACG ‘Outdoor Pack’ brings together an orange-accented black leather pair with the above pictured Hazelnut suede model whose Sport Red laces and heel stripe might remind you of the Air Magma’s OG colorway. It’s a similar proposition here, dealing with a suede upper that was designed for rough conditions: should you keep them pristine or go ahead and embrace the fact that they’re going to take some scuffs, knowing that it’ll build character. Nike All Conditions Gear is known for offering wild colorways on a range of rugged silhouettes that currently includes an unprecedentedly excellent range of boots. Hybrid mania has yet to hit the ACG design crew in full force, but one of their more notable mashups is back with a new rendition just in time for the snow season. The Nike Air Approach Mid brings together Air Magma and Air Lava design elements under one roof, this new leather and weather-repellent nylon design energetic yet understated in a mix of tonal beige plus orange atop a white/black sole setup. If you’re on the hunt for winter footwear, you’d be ill-advised to pass up all the heat that Nike ACG has been cranking out. Enter the Nike ACG Lava Dunk High, a smooth boot that pairs a chunky sole with the classic Dunk DNA, bringing d-ring fasteners for the laces as another small tweak to the standard Dunk design. The suede pair shown here is one of more neutral Lava Dunks on the market, with the majority of the previous releases wearing bright colors characteristic of the ACG lineup. Hiroshi Fujiwara’s selections for his various Nike collaborations for 2011 have been anything but predictable. This year he started out on a tennis tear, with various fragment design flavored All Courts and the like hitting shelves. More recently his focus has shifted to the Nike ACG line, first with the Nike Air Magma Zip and now with the Nike Zoom Meriwether. The two pairs from the drop feature a nappy suede on top that replaces the typical outdoorsy looks for this hiker with a more street ready get up.
