Sneaker News is currently looking for an in-house part-time sneaker guru with good writing skills. This job includes writing/blogging about new sneakers in additional to researching for future Sneaker News stories. You should be a self starter with good working habits, a great attitude and be open minded. We are looking to fill 3 to 4 days of work, about 8 hours a day. Our hours are usually from 12 to 8pm. We are located in downtown Manhattan in an area called East Tribeca which borders Tribeca, SoHo and Chinatown, the cross streets are Broadway between Lispenard and Walker.
Requirements:
- Excellent sneaker knowledge. You should be well versed in the 25 years of Air Jordan sneakers, 20+ years of Nike Air Max, 25 years of Air Force 1s, general Nike, adidas, Puma, New Balance and Reebok knowledge.
- Good writing skills, we are not the NY Times, but you should have college level writing skills and be able to write up articles on any sneaker in a neutral voice.
- Photoshop knowledge (or similar photo editing program). You will need to edit photos on a daily basis.
- Good knowledge of web based utilities, Google search, RSS, twitter, etc
Pluses but not required:
- Knowledge of wordpress and blogging
- A good eye for design and photo selection
- Have worked in a sneaker store or in the sneaker industry
Salary:
- Hourly pay based on your experience.
