Sneaker News Nike and Futura Laboratories are finally dropping a collaboration this Summer 2024. This SB Dunk Low is a canvas for the NYC-bred artist’s signature work, decorated in a splash of cooling aquatic blue tones with unique patterns imposed onto the overlays. At the base is a why ballistic nylon mesh base for durability. This is one of two colorways that were revealed by Futura; however, the alternate red pair is rumored to be for Friends & Family only. Updated January 18th, 2024: Another look at the upcoming Futura Laboratories x Nike SB Dunk Low has appeared via @solespeed23 on Instagram. The shoes, expected to launch this Summer 2024 season, now have official SKU and color info.
World-renowned street artist Futura has lent his signature strokes to Nike on numerous occasions, bringing his unique talents to various projects that are considered all-time classics. His abstract work can be seen through decades of work, like his decorative SB Dunk High that featured the album artwork for U.N.K.L.E., or his partnership with Virgil Abloh and his Off-White label for a set of seriously exclusive Dunk Lows.
Futura’s work has established him as one of the most significant brand collaborators of all-time, so news of another collaboration should inject some new energy into Nike SB’s ongoing off-the-ramp endeavors. Based on this first-look imagery revealed by @jahan_ and info shared weeks ago by @jfgrails, we can see more of Futura’s abstract visuals on what appears to be canvas overlays, with his iconic insignia placed on the heel and tongue. A light grey nylon is utilized for the base, while a translucent blue rubber sits below.
A firm release date is not yet known, but expect a release in 2024 and anticipated more images to surface in the coming weeks.
