nba feet 2 20 12 NBA Feet: Weekend Recap 2/17 2/19

Quite the eventful weekend, no? With the release of the Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’ on Saturday morning and the unfortunate online fiasco that happened in the early morning hours, this past weekend was certainly one of the most eventful ones of the month. Did anyone rock the Cement IV in the NBA? That distinction goes to San Antonio’s DeJuan Blair, who rocked the White/Cement IV with the Spurs throwback jersey. Quentin Richardson might’ve topped that by wearing his Black/Royal PE of the Air Jordan XIII, and Demar DeRozan continued wearing Kobe’s by rocking a sick Red/Black Zoom Kobe VII iD. The Jeremy Lin Show continued with a loss against the Hornets on Friday, but Linsanity returned on Sunday when the Knicks defeated the defending champion Dallas Mavericks in an exciting come-from-behind victory. J.R. Smith made his return to the NBA, chipping in with solid scoring for the Knicks while wearing the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse Low. The Air Jordan XI was again a popular choice, with the Space Jams and Concords making their weekly appearances, and LeBron James continued rocking PEs of his Nike LeBron 9 in back-to-back appearances against the Cavs and Magic. The weekend was capped off by Durant’s 51 points, Westbrook’s 40, and Serge Ibaka’s triple-double as the Thunder knocked off the Nuggets in OT. Air Jordan XI ‘Space Jam’ – Dennis Dixon PE

January 30th, 2012 by | 13 comments

Former Oregon Duck and current Pittsburgh Steelers back-up Dennis Dixon has kept in good relations with Nike over the years, participating in a number of training demonstrations on-location as well as in the Nike Campus (a recent instance being his demo of the Nike Sparq Sensory Training demonstration back in November). Perhaps as a show of gratitude to the pro athlete’s services (as well as his status as a former star QB for the Nike-affiliated University of Oregon), Jordan Brand and Nike has presented Dennis with some sick PEs like this Air Jordan XI ‘Space Jam’ customized just for him. The tongues feature Dixon’s jersey numbers (10 as a Duck, 2 as a Steeler), giving the Air Jordan XI a slight twist as the shoe typically does not feature a tongue. We’ve got a full shot of Dennis’ PE after the jump so take a look and let us know what you think. via JordansDaily

NBA Feet: Monta Ellis – Air Jordan XI ‘Space Jam’

January 16th, 2012 by | 9 comments

nba feet monta ellis air jordan xi space jam 1 NBA Feet: Monta Ellis Air Jordan XI Space Jam

Monta Ellis first grabbed our attention when he was spotted wearing the Air Jordan 8.0 during NBA Media Day last December. Formerly an athlete-representative of the brand AND1 (which has since deployed all of its NBA athletes to other brands), Monta’s apparent footwear freedom was something to keep an eye on, and it certainly paid off when he was spotted wearing the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’ during a few games earlier this season. Over the weekend, he solidified his status as a sneaker free agent when he was seen wearing the Air Jordan XI ‘Space Jam’. Every time the XI makes an appearance on an NBA court, it certainly captures our attention, but this occurrence has us wondering if Monta has plans to repeat Gilbert Arenas’ dazzling display of sneakers from last season. Check out Monta and his Jams below and let us know what you think he’ll rock next! via Yahoo!.

“An homage…15 years later.”

Michael Jordan did great things for Nike Basketball and Jordan Brand, but his influence reached beyond the sport and touched on the lifestyle aspect of Nike footwear. Nike iD recently put together this sick Nike Air Max 90 iD, featuring a tonal black upper with patent leather mudguards, rip-stop nylon uppers (the XI featured ballistic nylon), and sport mesh on the toe and ankle collar, all paired with a white midsole and translucent outsole. Both a worthy tribute to MJ and a great way to show off the current options on the Nike Air Max 90 iD, this Space Jam should have you running over to Nike iD right now! More angles below, so take a look and let us know what Nike Air Max 90 iD concepts you have in mind.

Air Jordan XI ‘Space Jam’ – 45 Laser Custom

October 25th, 2011 by | 30 comments

air jordan xi space jam 45 laser all star 09 Air Jordan XI Space Jam 45 Laser Custom

The Air Jordan XI ‘Space Jam’ with the ’45′ on the heel is one of the rarest Air Jordan samples out there. While this pair of custom Space Jams aren’t exactly a direct Jordan Brand product, it still captures that rare-sample mystique. Here’s a look at a pair of 2009 Retro Space Jams with MJ’s ’45′ jersey number lasered on the upper ankle of the medial side of the shoes; the laser customs were done at the Jordan Brand Experience during the 2010 NBA All-Star Weekend, when Jordan fans were given the rare opportunity to add Jordan-centric laser-graphics on their items. The owner of these Space Jams got a bit creative and decided to add the ’45′ on this deadstock pair – an idea unlikely duplicated by anyone else! Check out a closer shot of the ’45′ laser as well as general shots of these Air Jordan beauties below, and if you like the concept behind the ’45′, check out the auction from noname2828 on eBay.

Air Jordan XI ‘Space Jam’ – C.C. Sabathia Cleat PE

October 19th, 2011 by | 5 comments

jordan xi space jam cleat cc phase 2x summary Air Jordan XI Space Jam C.C. Sabathia Cleat PE

Michael Jordan’s supremacy doesn’t restrict itself to basketball. The brand that began with one sneaker (that was subsequently banned by the league) has spread its wings to football, baseball, motorsports, and even jazz (yes, there is a jazz musician signed onto Jordan Brand). Even if dribbling a basketball isn’t your M.O., chances are you’ve wanted to ‘be like Mike’ in one way or another. C.C. Sabathia is one of the few Jordan Brand athletes in Major League Baseball, and we’ve documented his Air Jordan Cleat PEs over the years – one of the more notable ones being the Space Jams that he’s worn during significant outings. What makes this PE different from most of the PE Cleats we’ve seen is that the cleated outsole features a Jumpman logo, opposed to the Swoosh seen on quite a few others. Check out the extra shots of this deadstock pair of the Space Jam cleats and let us know who you would nominate to be the next Jordan Brand athlete in the MLB! via phase2x.

air jordan xi space jam 45 detailed images Air Jordan XI Space Jam 45 Sample

The Air Jordan XI has once against established itself as the premier Jordan Brand sneaker release of the year, and with the expected release of the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’ in December causing excitement in the sneaker community around the world, the history of eleventh Air Jordan shoe elevates it beyond legacy and into the realm of divinity. Voted by our readers to be the greatest Air Jordan of all-time, the Air Jordan XI rocked the world of fashion and pop culture and catapulted the brand into cultural iconism, but we often forget that the beginnings of this shoe didn’t quite tie in to Michael’s greatest career moments. Michael Jordan first wore the Air Jordan XI during the second round of the 1995 NBA Playoffs, wearing the ‘Concord’ colorway before switching to the ‘Space Jam’ later in the series.

It was during that series that Michael decided to switch back from ’45′ to his original ’23′, but Michael still wore theĀ Air Jordan XI Space Jam ’45′ Sample during Game 4 of that series, when the ‘Space Jam’ made its worldwide debut. These are regarded as one of the most prized Air Jordan samples not just for its rarity, but for its place in Michael Jordan’s historical timeline. Continue reading for this rare detailed look at the Air Jordan XI Space Jam ’45′ and stick with Sneaker News for more detailed looks at one of the rarest Air Jordan samples in existence.
