In its traditional form, the Converse Pro Leather is the one of relatively few 1970s basketball bluchers that came out the gate with a cupsole. So while you might look at the new Pro Leather Vulc Hi and think it’s pretty standard, you’d be right in the sense that it’s now a bit closer to contemporaries the Nike Blazer and adidas Nizza by utilizing a low-profile autoclaved approach. This, along with revised Star/Chevron logo and a quilted heel makes for a fresh take, so check out this Cranberry colorway up close below, then grab yours exclusively at JD Sports.

The group spans the high and the low, with the Converse Pro Leather and the Converse Star Player going up and down across the four models included. The common thread amongst all of them is definitely the starry pattern, which goes from an all over upper-print, as on the Converse Star Player, to something more minimal that’s only utilized on the lining, as on the Converse Star Player OX. Long before the Nike and the Air Jordan, Michael was making legendary plays in the Converse Pro Leather – particularly in 1982 when he lifted the Tar Heels to an NCAA Title above the Georgetown Hoyas. Last year, Jordan Brand and Converse teamed up to create a limited edition release of the Converse Pro Leather to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of that shot, but it looks like Converse along is putting out some familiar colorways in case you don’t have the thousands to drop on those rare pairs. The Converse Pro Leather EV returns in both Hi and Lo form in a crisp white upper and Carolina blue and gold detailing, and even though there is no official UNC designation to these releases, Tar Heel pride is all that these exude. Check out the detailed gallery below and cop them directly from Converse as the High and Low are both available.
