2012 rising stars recap 18 NBA Feet: 2012 Rising Stars Challenge Recap

The league’s most promising first- and second-year players got together to participate in the 2012 BBVA Rising Stars Challenge that featured a mixed-and-matched team drafted by makeshift GMs Shaquille O’neal and Charles Barkley. Team Chuck took the win at the end with Cleveland Cavs rookie phenom Kyrie Irving taking home the MVP honors. Of course, we had our eyes glued to their feet, and the Rising Stars Challenge certainly did not disappoint; among the key sightings were there Hyperfuse Low iD for Jeremy Lin, Landry Fields and his Zoom Kobe VII PE, John Wall’s Zig Encore PE, Norris Cole’s LeBron 9 PE, and Blake Griffin’s scorching red Hyperdunk 2011s. The Rising Stars Challenge served as a platform for other brands who don’t get much notice, like Kemba Walker’s Under Armour Micro G Bloodline and Evan Turner’s Li-Ning Turningpoint ‘Year Of The Dragon’ PE. A year ago, Landry Fields couldn’t even get recognized inside a New York City Modell’s Sporting Goods store. Now, he’s the toast of the town thanks to his synergistic companionship with fellow youngster phenom Jeremy Lin, who will be throwing up lobs to Landry tonight during the 2012 BBVA Rising Stars Challenge. We already showed you what Lin will be wearing, but Landry just might have him beat in the sneaker department because he’ll be wearing these sick PEs of the Nike Zoom Kobe VII. It features the Spike Lee-approved Orange and Blue with a speckled midsole and the Rising Stars ‘Sophomore’ patch on the inner face of the tongue. These aren’t ‘iD-able’, but you can definitely get close enough, but check out the extra shots of Landry Fields’ Kobe VII PEs below (with another spy-shot of Lin’s Hyperdunk Lows) after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for some great on-court Feet coverage of tonight’s headlining event!
