Ball and Buck’s camo-accented colorup came and went quietly at the end of last month (due in large part to the extremely limited quantities), so what other options do you have when seeking a slightly rugged take on the iconic New Balance 574? Check out these two new styles from the sneakerhead’s favorite running specialists, the NB574 Hike in two new colorways just in time for fall. These feature typically subdued New Bal color styling but both really catch your eye with the latticework midsoles reminiscent of adidas’ patented Dellinger web, and both are yours for the taking at retailers like Size?

What would have happened if New Balance got the exclusive NFL licensing deal instead of Nike? The officiating in Monday night’s debacle wouldn’t have been any better, and you’ve gotta believe the Seattle Seahawks uniforms wouldn’t be quite as captivating, but a selection of classic New Bals in NFL team colors; that’s an idea we could all get behind. The New Balance ML574NKG is a navy and grey suede and mesh classic that stands out from the pack of those two oft-used colors thanks to green finishing touches that look as pretty as a Zorn to Largent TD strike. You can see more below, then buy a pair today at Premier.

The fairly wide ranging ‘Backpack’ collection of New Balance 574′s from a few months back made its mark as one of the better non-collab groups from NB on the year, flawlessly nailing the outdoorsy aesthetic via some clean material selections. Re-upping on the project is this, three more pairs with some punchier colors involved that get a women’s designation lest the fairer sex feel left out from all the retro runner heat. Click through with us to check out this addition to the New Balance 574 range and if you feel like picking any of them up then get in touch with the folks at Feature out in Las Vegas.

New Balance’s heritage in the Northeast has been more and more important in the brand’s collections as of late, with a particular patriotic air swirled in thanks to the efforts from the likes of CNCPTS. Another Boston based shop, Ball and Buck, is deepening that range with a pair that does the American history thing in a more roundabout way. The New Balance 574 (made in USA of course) shown is a tribute to the year of American gaining its independence, with a slim 176 pairs produced as a nod to 1776. The colorup furthers the Revolutionary War theme, sporting some hunter orange and camo sections and even being packaged in a vintage bullet box. Click through to get all the shots and keep in mind that Ball and Buck will be dropping this project next Thursday, September 27th instore and the day after online.

The New Balance 574 is a sneaker that’s no stranger to dressing up like other items, most recently getting dipped in the heavy nylon applique for that backpack collection. This time around the sneaks go for a shirting look, with the two pictured pairs getting spruced up by the help of a nice heather gray jersey style cotton. Stay with us after the jump to peep both pairs and let us know in the comments if either of these laid back New Balance 574′s will make it into your collection. If you are thinking about picking up either, keep in mind that Premier has them in stock right now.

Aside from their popular white leather styles affectionately known as ‘dad shoe’ defaults, New Balance is best known for applying grey suede and mesh to their no-nonsense high-comfort runners. We see a shift to a different neutral tone on this quartet from NB Japan, and though its pack name might have you imagining the shared versatility of grey and beige, that name is actually a reference to a totally undyed and unbleached cloth. The New Balance ‘Greige’ collection brings together the familiar New Balance 574 with 1400s, ML71 trainers and H710 boots in a sandy brown whose tonal appeal is intended to reflect the raw yet refined untreated look that’s become so popular in a variety of design disciplines of late. Have a closer look after the jump, let us know what you think of this new neutral style and stick with Sneaker News to see if they ever make it stateside. via Espionage

The 574 is one of many New Balance classics known for its deathgrip on the classic suede and mesh go-to build, but just like most of its peers, the most recognizable NB silhouette also makes for a formidable presence in a leather upper. The New Balance 574 ’Luxury Leather’ pack brings together black and brown styles with contrast stitching and plenty of tonal depth, both pairs built in the UK in a buttery smooth cowhide. Visually apparent quality is among the chief reasons for New Bal’s continued success despite any semblance of flashiness, and these latest drops are yours for the taking today at Titolo.

It’s not like 2010 had a bunch of rabbit fur sneakers or that ’11 could have even offered us real dragon scales as a form of foreshadowing, but there’s been an interesting synchronization between the Chinese zodiac and sneaker design trends of late. As we head into 2013, the snakeskin texture is one of the hottest wild animal prints and might even overtake the recent favorite cheetah/leopard with the way things are going. New England’s native sons will be ready once the new year rolls around with a bold ‘Year of the Snake’ New Balance 574 quartet highlighted by a black-based design whose multicolor scale outline suggests we’ve only scratched the surface of the recent infatuation with texture. Have a closer look below, let us know which pair stands out to you and stick with Sneaker News for release info. via HS
