NIKE BLAZER MID The Nike Blazer Mid is a slightly altered version of the Nike Blazer High, the first of Nike’s foray into the world of basketball sneakers together with the Bruin. The Nike Blazer Mid features a smoother side wall on the rubber midsole along with a strip of foxing running along the base of the upper in comparison to the Nike Blazer High. The Nike Blazer Mid remains the less retro’d of these two closely related sneakers.

Not every new Vintage Blazer Mid features snakeskin or some other wild print. Nike Sportswear keeps things a bit closer to the origin of this pre-yellowed take on the original Beaverton basketballer, revisiting the tried and true suede upper, leather Swoosh and an off-white shade we’d wager turns out to be Sail on the tongue, sole and lining. The Nike Blazer Mid Suede VNTG does try a couple of subtle new things here, though. The suede heel tab is a rarity, and being its pairing with the upper in such a monochromatic combination proves there are still a million and one more ways to keep the Blazer classy. You can see more of this ice cold combo after the jump, and pre-order yours today in advance of the January release at End.

It’s a reasonable expectation with the past few years’ output that the Air Force 1 will take the lead for Nike Sportswear’s latest Lunar New Year collection. But along with the AF1, other beloved classics like the Air Max 90 and Nike Blazer Mid are joining the Year of the Snake celebration. This YOTS Blazer Mid is depicted more clearly in these new images, which show us how sharp the delineation between black and Court Purple actually is on this upcoming design. Expect a proper debut in early 2013 along with more Chinese New Year Nikes, but you can already get select sizes today from Kicks-crew.

Its established VNTG variation experimenting with a bunch of new configurations in the coming months, the Nike Sportswear’s Blazer tries on a different kind of vintage treatment. Gone are the pre-yellowing, woodgrain sidewalls and much of the stitching, and in comes a new ribbed sole on this Swooshless Nike Blazer Mid Deconstructed Premium. Coming up first in Gym Red or Cool Grey suedes, these are reminiscent of John Varvatos’ Converse Pro Leather collabos, so let us know where they rank against some of the other notably grungy styles we’ve seen of late and stick with Sneaker News for US release info.

It’s kind of a funny idea to think about something ‘vintage’ not yet arriving on store shelves. And yet, that’s exactly what makes this latest Nike Blazer Mid Premium VNTG release so appealing, its fresh take on an iconic style made all the more impactful by a brand new Hyper Red shade with intensity the likes of which wasn’t very common back in the 1970s. Furthering this curiosity is the fact that this new red is a novel revelation for the first quarter of 2013, but you can see how it mingles with Sport Grey accents and a gum outsole in more photos after the jump below.

Nike Sportswear blows the doors off the established and slowly evolving Vintage Blazer framework with this latest pair, opting for a new construction and a totally unprecedented textural addition. The Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Premium VNTG is distinct from the Highs that preceeded it thanks to a subtle toe cap in off-white suede matching the lateral ‘outrigger’. This grey tone atop a Sail leather upper with Atomic Teal branding would have been fairly bold and unique in its own right, but add in a snakeskin Swoosh and not only does the color palette meet with exponentially more complexity, but we see a future for more VNTG Blazers with patterns employed. Stick with Sneaker News to see how that develops in 2013 and check out this January release below before you pre-order from Inflammable.

Nike Sportswear continues to play loose with the Blazer’s Mid and High distinctions, to the point that there are two distinct versions of the silhouette currently circulating with the former designation. The less common at the moment, though a closer resemblance to the Mids as we’ve come to know them in recent years is exemplified in the recent Vintage Multicolor pack including Dunks and the new Bruin Mid. The other, considerably more common look is the Nike Blazer Mid Suede VNTG whose proto-outrigger and smooth toe had become synonymous with the High. But semantics don’t matter all that much when we’re dealing with a style as beautiful as this new Neo Turquoise suede edition, and you can see it up close for yourself before pre-ordering in advance of the January 2013 release at Inflammable.

Just over a year ago, Nike Sportswear issued VNTG Blazer Highs and Lows in colorways that had released earlier, creating the impression that they’d been crafted from leftover pieces from those previous drops. The in-your-face mix-and-match looks were a love or hate affair, but NSW may have figured out how to make this look more accessible by keeping the various colors in play on this new trio within a more complimentary range. The result is that the new Nike Dunk High AC and the Blazer and Bruin Mids that accompany it in this ’Multi-Color Vintage Pack’ have a bit more cohesion despite still opting for a one-piece-one-color buildout. Have a closer look below, let us know which turned out best and be on the lookout as these are now arriving at select Asian NSW retailers.
