Earlier today Sneaker News gave you a first look at the Nike Zoom Kobe VII Elite in the ‘Home’ colorway that is currently set for a May release. Going back even later is the third and final installment of the ‘Poison Dart Frog’ Pack, which is tentatively set to release in June (the ‘Mint Candy’ drops in April while the ‘Lakers’ follows in May). The Red/Blue/Black features the tri-color adaptation of the poison dart frog’s aposematic outer skin with a solid blue midsole and white outsole in a colorway that could actually be dubbed the ‘Spiderman’. Ironically, this colorway is in fact the perfect Los Angeles colorway, but for that team not named the Lakers! The aposematic patterns that give the poison dart frog its signature appeal is what deems the attractive creature as one of the most dangerous in the wild. It’s these types of wildlife patterns that make the Nike Zoom Kobe VII one of the most unique sneakers ever designed, and although the use of graphic patterns on a Nike sneaker was done as early as the 70′s, none have done it such a distinct method like the Nike Zoom Kobe VII. The first leg of the Nike Zoom Kobe VII ‘Poison Dart Frog’ Pack is the Mint Candy/Black colorway, which is also specific to the Easter holiday as it drops alongside a similarly colored KD IV and LeBron 9 Low. Kobe Bryant’s reptilian persona of the ‘Black Mamba’ is about to get paired with one of the most dangerous amphibians in the world – the Poison Dart Frog. Originally previewed back in December when Kobe sat down with designer Eric Avar, the Nike Zoom Kobe VII ‘Poison Dart Frog’ features a Black/Mint Candy upper that mimics the poisonous frog’s aposematic patterns, which the frog uses to warn potential predators to back off. This Kobe release is also recognized as this year’s Easter Holiday commemorative release, as the release will fall on April 6th, two days before the Easter Sunday holiday. Earlier today Sneaker News provided you with some insight on the design of the Nike Zoom Kobe VII, as Kobe Bryant himself sat down with architect Eric Avar to discuss the latest features of the Kobe VII. Now that we’ve got all the technical specifications down, how about a look at some upcoming colorways? If the upcoming Christmas colorway the Nike Zoom Kobe VII ‘Leopard’ is any indication, we should expect some crazy color-combinations and concepts, like the upcoming Poison Dart Frog Pack that is currently set for a Summer 2012 release, or even the ‘Barcelona’-inspired colorway that we showed you earlier this month.
