Ahead of Hall of Famers like Cris Carter, Steve Largent and Don Hutson, Terrell Owens trails only unanimous GOAT Jerry Rice and the Canton-bound Randy Moss on the NFL’s career receiving touchdowns list. Like Moss, Owens faded away under the cloud of his contentious personality, but whereas ‘The Freak’ started his career as a Jordan Brand athlete, TO wrapped up his career rocking the Jumpman. But even as Owens wore out his welcome in various cities over the second half of his career, Jordan Brand remained loyal to the end, even crafting him these sick Air Jordan III PE Cleats for a 2012 tenure in Seattle that didn’t go as planned. TO missed a perfect storm here with the first Nike x NFL season giving the best new uniforms to the playoff-bound Seattle Seahawks; is this model he never wore on the NFL gridiron his career best cleats? It’s too bad that Terrell Owens didn’t last long on the Seahawks roster, because we would’ve definitely seen a nice variety of colorways of Air Jordans like this Air Jordan III. It features a Black/Electric Green combination that sorta falls in like with the recently released Air Jordan III ‘Joker’ or even the entire Air Jordan ‘Black/Neon’ Collection, but this might’ve been the tip of the iceberg with PEs considering the Seattle Seahawks are a bit of a test guinea pig for Nike to test out outrageous colors and what not. The Seattle Seahawks recently put their newly acquired Wide Receiver Terrell Owens through some drills during Day 10 of Training Camp, and while the 38-year-old former All-Pro has certainly kept himself in tip-top shape, whether or not that will transfer into on-field stardom is yet to be determined. During this practice, T.O. was wearing a cleated version of the Air Jordan III, and with the Seahawks being Nike’s ‘guinea pig’ for awesome new on-field designs, hopefully Terrell, a Jordan Brand athlete, will be seeded some team-specific Air Jordan Retro Player Exclusives throughout the season. We’ve seen the Air Jordan VI brush up against the flossy look once or twice before, with the Air Jordan VI ‘DMP’ and the forthcoming ‘Gold Medal Pack’ version both introducing some hits of gold to the silhouette. This chromed out player exclusive Air Jordan VI cleat made for Terrell Owens’ at the time of the 2008 Pro Bowl blows both of those out of the water though in terms of gaudy metallic looks, a motif broken up only by the hits of navy brought in through the laces and lining to complete the Cowboy look (also notice the lack of branding in compliance with NFL guidelines). Not only is Terrell Owens putting up Pro Bowl-type numbers, he’s proving that he’s still one of the best in game. Currently sitting at 62 catches, 897 yards, and 8 scores, the 36-year-old is showing the younger WRs in the league that he’s still one of the top dogs regardless what team he plays for. Of course, Terrell Owens has been lighting up the footwear scene with his sick Air Jordan cleats as well, because during yesterday’s unfortunate loss to the Buffalo Bills, T.O. brought out a third PE colorway of the Air Jordan III Cleat, in a tonal orange upper with black laces and midsole. By far Owens’ “loudest” pair of the season, this Air Jordan III Cleat PE caught our attention immediately and will continue to do so as the season progresses. It may have taken until week 4 of the NFL season, but we all knew it was only a matter of time before Terrell Owens made his first big splash as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals. Yesterday, the legendary wide receiver did all that and more, producing one of the most impressive performances of his career. T.O. racked up a whopping 222 yards and his first touchdown of the season, all while sporting this pair of personalized Air Jordan III cleats. We’ve already seen Terrell rocking the black/orange Bengals AJIII PE’s this year, but here’s an inside look at the crisp new pair he wore this Sunday, prior to him lacing them up for battle against the division/cross-state rival Cleveland Browns. The future Hall of Famer torched the Browns secondary in style all day and the Air Jordan III cleats on his feet made it all look that much better. Was it the shoes? For Week 1 and Week 2 as well as the pre-season games of the 2010 NFL Season, Terrell Owens broke out some fresh heat in the form of Air Jordan III Cincinnati Bengals Cleat Player Exclusives. Featuring a black upper with patent leather accents and orange contrast on the bottom soles, ankle, and elephant print, Terrell Owens’ cleats have made appearance against the Patriots and Ravens with the Bengals now at a 1-1 record. Owens still fills up the stat sheets; he’s on pace for another 1,000 yards if he keeps up his pace. Terrell Owens was recently spotted with some Cincinnati Bengals Kobe V iD/PE’s but for the gridiron, it’s Air Jordans all the way. Take a look at T.O.’s Air Jordan III (3) Cleats that he broke out for practice and for the Bengals’ pre-season showdown with T.O.’s former team, the Dallas Cowboys. Owens caught two passes for 18 stripes during the 1st quarter but didn’t see much action afterwards as most of the game was taken over by back-ups, but with the trio to T.O., Chad, and Carson Palmer, we should expect a lot more fun this coming season. It was almost a decade ago when T.O. performed his biggest TD celebration, when he sprinted to the Cowboys’ logo of the Star at the 50-yard-line after torching George Teague on a fade route for his second 6-pointer; hopefully T.O. has something else up his sleeve – perhaps a collaboration with 85?
