You’ll recall that Tiger Woods popped up in the recent “The Legend Grows” spot helping to spin the tall tale of Eric Koston’s achievements. The appearance was no doubt influenced to some extent by Koston’s love of the game of golf, a love that apparently has resulted in the creation of this weird golf spike that’s got the same overall shape and stitching as the new Nike Eric Koston 2. See a couple extra angles right after the jump and get a behind the scenes look at his recent commercial, which even features Tiger himself hitting the pair with his signature.

Nike has served up yet another entertaining ad campaign, this time featuring golf gurus Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. The subject of sneakers has marched back into the mouths of the mainstream media this week, with quite a few outlets commenting on that $315 price tag that’s being slapped on to the Nike+ version of the Nike LeBron 10. So all of a sudden the typical topics that you see on sites like ours is getting lip service from less sneaker focused but still sports-centric publications – the widely subscribed Sports Illustrated being one of them. Sticking with the theme of the athlete/sneaker relationship they’ve dug up an impressive gallery of guys and gals from various sports caught with their footwear, some shots featuring signature silhouettes and some featuring models that were merely played in from time to time. “Nike Free technology … I love training in it, running in it, lifting in it. So I asked, why can’t I play golf in it?”
Tiger Woods’ words offer the latest testimonial echoing the benefits of barefoot-style training. His sport is a low-impact game wherein the key ability is one that’d naturally benefit from a better connection to the earth: remaining perfectly rooted on the ground whilst windmilling violently to transfer the force of a four hundred-dollar club into a 4cm projectile. Tobie Hatfield’s Nike Innovation Kitchen set to spiking the bottom of a flexible Free sole and the prototype we’ve been seeing for nearly a year is finally about to arrive when the Nike TW ’13 arrives at select retailers on June 8th. Have a look at the Nike Free-inspired TW’13 spot after the jump and let us know if you’ll make these your new golf shoes.

We’re not quite back to the days of ‘Tiger or the field?’, but with a win last week at Bay Hill, one Eldrick Woods is looking stronger heading into The Masters than he has in years. Tiger joins the field of those gifted Nike Air Force 1 Low PEs as we approach this year’s tournament, a matching Storm Fit jacket reminding us that it’s been seven years since Woods won in Augusta. His four Green Jackets are commemorated on the chest where the top ‘club’ replaces its driver head with flowers like those that appear on the AF1′s underlay and laser etching, details that you can examine more closely in additional images after the jump. via HKK
