Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made the transition from sports entertainment icon to action film superstar look rather easily, hasn’t he? We can attribute his hardcore devotion to fitness as one of the primary reasons why he’s constantly hand-picked to play lead roles in action-packed films, but before he was taking down criminals or laying smackdowns on jabronis, he was making hits on the field for “The U” aka the University of Miami. Under Armour recently presented this sick PE of the UA Spine BB to The Rock, using the signature Hurricanes colorway of green, orange, and white and featuring Johnson’s 94 jersey number on the tongue. We know you basketball fans are still replaying that earth-shattering Lob City speciality on an endless loop, and why not? It’s the dunk of the year thus far, and even DeAndre Jordan’s post-dunk face has imprinted itself in NBA highlights for years to come. Under Armour Basketball is celebrating this moment by launching the #DeAndreDunkFace campaign on Instagram – all you need to do is take a selfie with your own post-slam dunk face and tag it with #DeAndreDunkFace. This Tuesday, Under Armour Basketball will pick the best “DunkFace”, with that winner being sent to Los Angeles to attend a Clippers game, have a meet-and-greet with DeAndre, and get some fresh UA gear – maybe even a pair of the Under Armour Spine Bionic PE that he wore during that dunk. In addition, UA has two special edition tees available on their online store. Follow UABasketball on Instagram and enter!

Last night, Under Armour athlete Kemba Walker took the court for the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge debuting the low-top version of the polarizing Under Armour Micro G Charge look. What’s done to the Low is that the huge heel that entirely wrapped the lower leg has been drastically reduced, resulting in a more classic silhouette – all while keeping the advanced design concept of the Charge in mind. Kemba wore this sick colorway called the “Houston Lights”, inspired by the city’s skyline. There are two colorways at the core of this weekend’s specialties so check out both below and let us know what you think – the Charge BB Low will hit retail this Fall 2013 season.

Under Armour continues its relentless push into the footwear with the unveiling of the Cam Newton Highlight Trainer. This new signature sneaker, designed by UA Footwear Creative Director Dave Dombrow, cohesively meshes various elements of Cam’s personal tastes and combines them with design cues never before seen on conventional Trainer shoes. The pigskin suede toe-box, the low-pro construction, and the high-rising skin-tight ankle collar (which folds down for a more casual appeal) are just some of the unique details that make the Cam Newton Highlight unlike anything out there in the market, and Sneaker News was fortunate enough to preview the shoes first-hand. The Cam Newton Highlight will release on December 8th in the ‘Panthers’ and ‘Atlanta Hawks’ colorways at the retail price of $150, so check out the detailed breakdown as well as additional exclusive images below and give us your thoughts on the latest innovation from Under Armour’s flourishing footwear collection.
