Anfernee ‘Penny’ Hardaway arrived in Phoenix the year Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant won the first of their three-straight NBA titles. Once on the cusp of establishing a similar dynasty with Shaq in Orlando, Penny’s microfracture and other injuries lead to the former All-NBA point guard missing nearly half of his games as a Sun. And though they were originally released in 1997 when Penny was still a Magic, these new Nike Air Penny IIIs serve as a reminder of his time in the desert, thanks to a nice eggplant Foamposite ‘wave’ and midsole. One of the true classics of late ’90s Nike Basketball, the Eggplant Air Penny III is available now from Extra Butter.

damn – you can dress any shoe in eggplant and ill think it looks nice lol. but they arent better then the blk and slvr HOH version.

Yea, they cool but if I do they’d be strictly for hoopin cause my foams will NEVER touch the court to be played in.

They ain't foams. Why would you want to down grade to an inferior product?

As a guy who's rocked both shoes, I can state conclusively that the APIII isn't 'inferior' to Foam Ones or Pros. In fact, the mix of Zoom and Max Air was arguably the best cushioning combo Nike had to offer in the late '90s.

Really feeling the Penny III's, I don't like the mis-match in the Foam purple, and heel purple though

These are dope if you don't have the foams. I would get these and the Varsity red 6's, but I'm opting to get the Infrared pack instead. No hypebeast, I just know the Infrared's will be more valuable in the long run. I choose to invest my money in shoes vesus stocks and houses right now. Way safer!

YEA, but the shoe is ugly compared to the foams. Rather have the foams!
