The Converse First String Standard Collection features the brand’s most historic and time-honored silhouettes redone in premium fashion; take for example the leather-uppered heel-zippered Chuck Taylor that arrived during the Spring 2010 season. The latest of these releases comes in the form of the Matchpoint III, and original design from the ’70s, a former tennis star that is more than comfortable looking fresh on the streets. Both new colorways feature monochromatic poplin cotton uppers, cut-out stars on the leather heel, and a supremely confortable foot-bed cushion. The suede versions of the Matchpoint III was a hit in the lifestyle category so these new releases should fare no differently. These latest premium Converse products will release this month at select retailers such as Concepts in Cambridge, MA, Major in the D.C. area, and WISH in Atlanta, GA.
