The Gold Rush has hit the D.C. area as John Wall, the first overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, has brought a winning attitude to the Washington Wizards. The Wizards are off to an unsteady 1-2 start but Wall has been lighting up the box scores with averages of 23.7 points, 10.3 assists, and 4 steals a game – a stat-line that is good enough to bang with the elite players. Reebok certainly struck gold by signing Wall to an endorsement deal; arguably the brand’s most recognizable team member since Allen Iverson, John Wall has brought a ton of positive hype toward Reebok and the Zig Slash, so Reebok is paying some tribute to the youngster by releasing a limited edition pair of the Reebok Zig Slash ‘Gold Rush’.
Featuring a tonal gold upper with a black Reebok logo and royal blue Zig midsole, the ‘Gold Rush’ is limited to just twelve units and will be released in a special locked box. Inside the tongue is a label that offers some words of respect to New York City and its status in the world basketball, and on the heel is individual numbering of each of the twelve pairs. These will release exclusively at Foot Locker on 34th St., around the corner of Madison Square Garden, a day after John Wall’s NYC debut. Foot Locker is also giving away a pair of John Wall autographed Zig Slashes so continue reading for contest info as well as a detailed gallery of the ‘Gold Rush’, and let us know what you think!
