Hideo Nomo’s arrival to American Major League Baseball was without a doubt one of the biggest sports stories of the 90′s. Though he wasn’t the first Japanese player to play in the Major Leagues, he is credited for starting the wave of Japanese-born players to hit the states. Nomo’s unorthodox delivery paired with his success in his rookie year led him to be one of the standouts of the league, to which Nike took notice by releasing the Air Max Nomo in 1996. After the astounding success of the Nike Air Griffey Max 1, Nike decided to push the baseball-inspired Retro by re-releasing the Air Max Nomo in 2011 – the first of which is the Varsity Red/Black-White-Varsity Maize colorway. You can find these in Nike retailers like WEST in NYC, but you can also grab a pair now on eBay.

Can you complain about anything with this shoe??
Sick! Nice sole, nice colorway! I just wonder when releasing retro sneakers the first colorway has to be black, red, and white.
