Sneaker News Weekly Rewind: 2/26 – 3/4
March is upon us, and that signifies a slow changing of the season and a look at some new kicks. The Nike Zoom Rookie LWP, the next Air Penny hybrid shoe, was introduced this week in Black/Yellow colorway. Sneaker News also gave you a look at some new and upcoming Air Jordan Retros and releases, like the Air Jordan XII Low in Black patent leather and the Air Jordan XI IE Low in White/Red. Some big releases occurred this week for both Kobe and LeBron, but we also got a look at some upcoming colorways as well. Nike SB’s March 2011 Collection dropped this week with a look at the new vulc-soled Omar Salazar for later this year. Tons of sneakers were seen on the feet of NBA players and celebs again, highlighted by Gilbert Arenas’ Olympic VI from 2008 and Fabolous’ Premio XIII.
In upcoming kicks, Sneaker News gave you a look at the new EA Sports x Nike Zoom Huarache TR Low for Fight Night ‘Champion’ in a boxing robe-inspired colorway. You can expect more Air Max 1s and 90s next month for sure as well as the next Supreme x Vans Footwear collection. Nike Basketball is set to debut the Hyperfuse 2011 and the Air Hypershox later this year, and in Reebok news, New England’s Bodega’s collab with the Pump AXT was deserving of our attention. Speaking of old basketball kicks, Sneaker News showed you some rare autographed and game-worn PEs from Penny Hardaway and Allan Houston as well a nice collection of more contemporary designs and players. One sneakerhead gave us a look at his own collection of Air Jordan PEs as well. On March 19th, Sneaker Con NYC will open its doors for the first time in 2011, so don’t forget to bring your heat! And finally, Sneaker News put the spotlight on Michael Jordan’s final retirement from the Chicago Bulls and the Air Jordan XV.
