Jordan Brand’s remastering of its classic models (the Air Jordan II to the Air Jordan 2.0, the AJ8 becoming the Air Jordan 8.0) was an idea that dates back to late 2009 when the Air Jordan Alpha 1 released. The Alpha 1 kept it true to the original design of the Air Jordan 1, and instead replaced the shoe with upgraded parts like a Phylon midsole, a lightweight and breathable mesh lining, seamless construction on portions of the upper. For Fall 2011, the Jordan Brand introduced the low-top version of the Alpha 1; this August release utilizes a tonal black motif with matte silver accents on the shoe.
