It’s been nearly three years since Mastermind Japan applied a stud to the top eyelet and skull to the tongue of a black Chuck Taylor All Star, so this newest collaboration is long overdue. The Mastermind x Converse Jack Purcell Mid employs a similar motif, but the result is quite different owing to a few subtle changes. We’ll start at the tongue, where the skull logo has been displaced in favor of a subtler pair with crossbones and a script embroidery. The ankle collar still sees its top eyelet replaced by a stud, but instead of a zipper going down to the sole from the heel, you get it on the lateral side panels so that the skull can rest on the heel cup. All these changes plus a ‘MASTERMIND’ handstyle on the toecap means these’ll be a must-have when they release on December 1st at select Converse stores. via HB//boundlezz
