Around this time of year, optimists tend to begin assembling their list New Years Resolutions. Number One: Buy less sneakers. Yeah, right. With a ton of great releases already confirmed for the first three months of 2012, it’ll be pretty difficult to slow down your sneaker purchases, and February’s release of the Air Jordan X ‘Old Royal’ is one of the main culprits of that temptation. Here we have another look at the upcoming release, which features a combination of tumbled white leather and smooth synthetic leather on the upper, with blue mesh on the lace placket and the trademark checkerboard pattern on the inner lining. Blue looks purple-ish but they ok patent leather on a X is a no no next they going to try the whole shoe patent leather.

i know people seem to be freakin out over the patent leather, but IMO, it's pretty subtle (actually being serious here), some of our smarter readers (i'm definitely joking here) don't even see the patent leather on the pics. I understand why the patent leather and the mesh annoy the OGs, but, we all already know, every single retro has a change or two. I like these a lot, but they do fall second fiddle to other stuff releasing in Jan/Feb.

I Like the retro X's as a whole. But the Patent Leather makes me think twice about them. they remind me of the Retro Vs that came out with the patent leather a while back. I'll just have to see them in person to get a final judgement.

I could understand if the whole upper was patent leather but only the sides are an people are freaking out. I think they look pretty good with or without patent leather. Ugly? Well these aren't susposed to be fashionable but they would look hella good on the court.
