For the last three years, Eric Avar and Kobe Bryant have defied the conventions of the basketball footwear design and put forth one of the most unique spans of signature sneaker history – a low-cut, performance shoe designed after soccer, but made for basketball. Strengthened by tensile Flywire fibers, stabilized by proper outriggers, and cushioned with Zoom Air, the Nike Zoom Kobe VII was the perfect technical basketball shoe with an imperfect design. No visible ankle support and a curb weight rivaling that of a long-distance running sneaker was one of the more questionable features in the Zoom Kobe V, but since then, any doubts have been wiped out as the Zoom Kobe V, VI, and VII have become on of the most depended-upon and widely utilized performance basketball shoes in history. Taking things a step further, Nike Basketball will debut an ‘Elite’ edition of the Nike Zoom Kobe VII – just think of the base-model of the Zoom Kobe VII as a luxury car, and the Elite as a fully-loaded package complete with visual and mechanical upgrades. The Elite ride gives you the unparalleled comfort of Full-length Zoom, the fearless stability of a carbon-fiber heel counter, and a re-constituted snakeskin upper composed of hexagonal scales, allowing you to look, feel, and perform great like never before. Check out this detailed gallery of the Nike Zoom Kobe VII Elite in the ‘Away’ colorway and let us know if you like these better than the ‘Home’ after you compare both.

Does a carbon fiber heel really make that much of a difference I mean damn what do you gain from having a carbon fiber heel on your shoe, I'm sick of all this groundless hype.
People who judge a shoe based on price are disabled....the shoe is either fly or not....no one gives a f about whether you can afford it
People are still whining about the price? But people are still willing to pay a 1500 for those stupid foamposites and hundreds of dollars and hours to wait for the yeezys. Stop complaining about the price and get your broke ass off your computer chair and get a job beside reselling shoes and wasting bandwidth on the internet. Remember people in Canada and other international countries have been paying for Jordans, Lebrons and Kobes for 200+ for years now. They are not complaining. You guys are fortunate to be paying those low prices forever now. If you don't like them and can't pay for them shut up and don't get them. People are now talking the sneaker worth? Um the last time we check there are no shoes out there that are actually worth the market value. What do the yeezys worth 220? what does the yeezy have on there to be worth 220? NOTHING. It all hype, you are paying for the hype. If these Kobes where really hyped up you wouldn't even think about how much it worth. Most likely people are gonna pay for the Lebrons Elite which is definitely going to be like 200+ than these. People aren't complaining about the money, people complaining about the hype.
$200 for low tops that originally came out last yr for 140? Where they do that at? I could see if they was the newest ones but wow Nike y'all tripping
must cop for me..i will get these..limited or not...must have for me..passed on the cloaks and galaxy...i will have these and the homes.....hand down man down....as my boy fab says...da..da...da..da...damn!!!
I would pay an extra 60 bucks for these if I thought they actually were more comfortable/wearable than the regular VIIs -- which are basically worthless for ballin' since there's a design flaw with the insoles that causes most people to get INSANE blisters in the arch area after wearing them for a just a couple games. Heel lockdown is terrible too. They look good, but damn -- what a step down from the VIs.
must cop..$200 or whatever these will be on my feet when i ball for my championship game in may..book it!!! pure fire..would have liked a splash of concord but pure fire!
The release date is appropriate for these because you have to be smoking some good stuff to think these are a $200 sneaker.
So smart guy, what defines a hypebeast? Is it a person who cops shoes they like, when they drop? I have been in the game since the 90's and there have always been people who go out of their way to cop kicks but now some internet douche has coined the name "hypebeast" so that everyone who is either too lazy to get their ass out of bed at 5am or too broke to afford shoes has a name to call those that are willing and able to get the kicks. Grow up kid get a fucking good job so you can afford shoes like those hypebeast you want dead. IMO
damn i have flat-as-hell feet so i thought i was getting blisters there cuz I have no arch. that's crazy
for real!!!!!!!! Nike done bumped their heads!!!! no 420 you gotta be smoking crack to drop 200 on these
A hype beast isn't someone who cops the shoes they like. It's someone who cops the shoes they think or predict other people will like. They get all caught up in the hype instead of copping what looks good to them. GR or Limited shouldn't matter. The "hypebeasts" are followers, and they're everywhere! IMO.
honestly i think that proportionally, a 60 dollar hike for a full length zoom back, carbon fibre detailing and the enhanced snake skin aesthetic is reasonable on a 140 dollar shoe. The problem is that the shoe should not be 140 dollars to start with.
