Air Jordan 2012 ‘Tinker Hatfield’ Inspiration
March 10th, 2012 by John K. | 26 comments

Jordan Brand has come through with a bit of background info on the upcoming ‘Tinker Hatfield’ version of the Air Jordan 2012 Deluxe. The luxurious black and white colorway is apparently a nod to Hatfield’s original inspiration for the overall design of the sneaker-the Jazz era and accompanying zoot-suit garments. The dragon hit on the back is also clarified, as Tinker himself was born in the year of the dragon. Check out the official images and stick with Sneaker News for the Air Jordan 2012 Delux ‘Tinker Hatfield’ release next Wednesday, March 14th.

Air Jordan 2012 is superb! A very nice good looking shoes. The looks is unique & well crafted. JB didn't disappoint me this time. Always push into a different style & performance shoes each year. When i look back at all the signatures Air Jordans, from AJ1 to AJ2012, all of the shoes have their own unique looks & story behind it. I like it & appreciate it. Well done JB, keeps up the good works :)
Tinker did the sketch, then handed final design over to the BJ team, same for the 2011. That's why the sketch didn't look as good. GR's may get to outlets, but people who say these will sit on shelvesd are dead wrong. They were a very limited quickstrike and sold immediately. I have these, the YOTD and a "heritage" pair I made at all star weekend. Quality is amazing, design, yeah, is just so-so.
How can these be good? They aren't retro's. It is just hilarious to me that when all the "retro's" first came out everyone said the exact same thing as everyone says about any Air Jordan shoe that comes out now. I remember when I got the 11's when they first came out and everyone asked why i was wearing moon boots and said they were the ugliest thing they have ever seen.
Does anyone know if there going to come out in grade school size??
Can i jus ID a pair... im tryin to have mine look like da drawin up top...
ugggghh... even the best falls down sometime, maybe its really true.
These will be inspiring people from the shelves of the Nike outlet...not to cop. To walk away from Nike for good.
i actually like this shoe but i still know that i wont end up getting them because no matter how much people say their ugly or dont like them they end up being sold out
WTF AGAIN!!!.....This is Tinker Hatfield DESPERATION (not inspiration). He just blew this one. He should retire designing JBs after this.
Maybe you should replace Tinker in the Nike Design Kitchen and show the world what we've all been missing...
Nike and Air Jordan are two separate brands. the "Nike Design Kitchen" isn't used in the Jordan business. Don't think you're so cleaver now, huh?
I know its called the design kitchen, but cleaver is a pretty bad pun.
Still ugly no matter how u tweak it.
I like them. Period. Well....without that dragon design would be better.
then that defeats the PERIOD in ur statement. Smh.
Beautiful crafted shoes! This will be a classic shoes in the future :)
Don't see sleeper classic status on these.
i need these!! idc if no1 ese like em i <3 em
i love em as well, so happy that the hypebeasts haven't noticed how insanely awesome these puppies are!
what are these shoes for..
It's a basketball sneaker.
only if the toe box was white.
i want to know the process between that sketch and the final design, because a lot changed
The original blueprint drawing looks a lot better than the final product imo
thats what i said when i saw them.
