Paul Bunyan represents the rugged lumberjack in all (North) Americans, so it’s no surprise that a Made in the USA New Balance 574 inspired by his legend was a big hit when it released last fall. NB now turns to a different ‘Tall Tale’ who made even more of an impact on our culture for reasons not the least of which is that he actually existed. The NB574 ‘Johnny Appleseed’s red suede reflects its inspiration as subtly as the man for whom they’re named continues to affect our daily lives as a result of his early nineteenth century seed spreading. These are arriving now in the US so check with your local NB retailer and check out some additional images below in the meantime. Photos: Kicktures
