It certainly is taking quite a while for another adult colorway of the Air Jordan IV to release, because the upcoming Air Jordan IV ‘Cavs’, set to drop on May 12th, would be the first Air Jordan IV since mid-February’s White/Cement release. Perhaps that elongated gap between Retro IVs is because this Red/White sample was scrapped; as stated in the size-tag (the only true piece of information we can use to date a sneaker), this Red/White sample with a unique matte Foamposite-like upper (as described by the owner) was destined for a Spring 2012 release (Jan-Mar), but it appears that Jordan Brand is following last year’s formula of Retro drops by sticking to OGs and one new concept (the aforementioned ‘Cavs’). With these popping up as well as Gentry’s White/Red Laser IV, perhaps 2012 was intended to be a crazier year for Retro releases, but given the current state of sneaker mania and Nike’s complete upheaval of its sneaker release process, maybe it’s better that these stayed inside the factory doors. We’ve got a detailed look at this tonal-red Air Jordan IV sample below, so take a look and join in on the bidding slugfest from this listing from brokeonjordans on eBay.

damn these are dope,,, imagine if all the white was black,, that would be a definite gem in my collection
Shouldve came out with these. I love all red shoes. Maybe they can change the leather into red suede or nubuck, and make the outsole black, but i guess its still on point.
Perfect for when Miguel Cotto knocks the crap out of loudmouth mayweather.. TEAMCOTTO TEAMMAYWEATHERISACHEATER
I hate how pregnant the Jumpan always looks on the fours. Anyways, it would sell out if it released so I guess it's a keeper. It's not for me, but maybe it's a reverse history of flight.
i like how the materials and the colorway just comes together perfectly. a little too much red to me without a hing of black
Wack. Nike might as well ID the Retro 4... The 'Cavs' release is a step in that direction anyway. SMH
So I just noticed that these have premium mush lining in the heel. Just like the Air Jordan XX3 had. But this colorway makes it look like a clown shoe. The white needs to be more dispersed. It makes the shoe look bulky. Just my $0.02.
The typical response to something new here on sneakernews seems to be "ugly" and "I would never cop these," but then suddenly people are camping out! DB IV is the perfect example, everyone disliked now everyone loves and the reseller price is still going up and up and up. Good job idiots! Me on the other hand, I will admit that I like these and would definitely buy them, but more than likely they would lose some allure once the entire sneaker community starts to change their mind and feel the exact same way I do now.
Easy pass... Wouldn't think twice. Thought da stealth 10's were bad, these would be worse. Just DON'T do it!
If they would gave the shoes a grey or black outsole and straps , they could have been a hot release. That's just my opinion though.
Should've replaced a couple of the white places with like yellow or black. Couldn't see myself wearing those ever as is.
...now if this had questloves profile on the tongue wouldn't that be something ( I think I'm putting the jamieson away and calling it a night)- dope idea imo
Strange color blocking. I like the all-red concept but they should've mixed it up; white nets, all-red on top and all-white on bottom isn't working.
True philosophy lol. Also, when a celebrity wears a shoe, all of sudden people want to cop 'em. For ex: AJ V "Quai 54" White/Green colorway from last year. People completely hated the shoe, but once they saw Fab wear 'em; they went from hating to copping.
