Though its name and general style was borrowed from an all time classic, Ronnie Fieg‘s New Balance 999 ‘Steel Blue’ isn’t an exact copy of the legendary 1300 by that same moniker. In fact, it took six different revisions before RF’s latest NB collaboration was ready for retailers, everything from material selection and distribution to which parts of the branding will make the most impact. Given that we rarely see samples with more than one (set of) serious revision(s) for any particular sneaker design, it’s especially interesting to see the stages this one went through in order to get ready for its Friday, June 15th release date. Click through to see the entire process, let us know how these compare to Ronnie Fieg’s best collabo kicks and stick with Sneaker News for updates.
