Sneaker News just brought you images of a new ZX 8000 design from adidas Originals that utilized a couple shifts in the most basic color shades to give the shoe a unique finished look. Good news for anyone who found that style appealing, as today we have a look at a new drop from another brand that utilizes a similar style (which one’s better?). The Asics Gel-Lyte Speed comes through in a white base accented by what looks like from a distance the three primary colors of pigment, though a closer look reveals the ‘red’ to be done in a lycopene-y shade closer to orange that’s earned this model a ‘Tomato’ nickname. Check them out from a variety of other angles after the jump and find yours at select retailers like Hanon.

Remember back in 2011 when Solebox let go a few snapshots from an upcoming Asics collaboration? Gel heads have been eagerly awaiting for word on their release since then, and while they aren’t ready to drop any info just yet, we do have another sneak peek from the Solebox team. A top down view of the black Asics Gel Lyte III first shown here, this new photo reveals an interesting detail unbeknownst to readers before in the form of the loud orange laces. Will both the grey and black sets hit retail when it all goes down? Stick with Sneaker News to find out and hit the jump for some extra shots of the upcoming Solebox x Asics Gel Lyte III collaboration.

A couple quick search engine queries will let you know that the value of gold has been on a steady rise over the past couple of years. Ronnie Fieg’s pedigree has been marked by a similar trend, with each of his successive Asics releases garnering more and more attention. Looks like he’s got another one on his hands with the Ronnie Fieg x Asics GT-II ‘Rose Gold’, a sneaker that we’ve seen teased a couple times already under the salmon/baby blue moniker. The images come with the familiar Fieg formula (chicks+kicks), so do your best to stay focused when you check out the quick teaser here. As always stick with Sneaker News for release info on the Ronnie Fieg x Asics GT-II ‘Rose Gold’ as soon as it becomes available.

Given the pace he was keeping in 2011, it seemed like only a matter of time before the world got a peek at the next sneaker in the line from the ongoing Ronnie Fieg x Asics team up. Judging by this photo from his twitter, Fieg is getting away from the split-tongue set up again with a revisit to the Asics GT-II. Astute readers will recall when these popped up on the feet of Theophilus London, or even further back when they slyly showed up in a Kith photoshoot. Suede is again the material of choice, this time in a light salmon color with some hits of baby blue for the accents. Follow us after the jump to get the full look at the latest from Ronnie Fieg, and stick with Sneaker News for release info as soon as it becomes available.

With sneaker resellers causing enough of a push against market elasticity that the best might earn an early retirement, we’ve reached a point in the history of footwear distribution where true regional exclusives are almost a thing of the past. The internet makes it possible to not only hit up overseas retailers, but make connections with likeminded heads across the globe for the expressed purpose of trading sneakers to make your neighbors jealous. The same will also be possible for NYC-area sneakerheads who’ll have a shot at some of Asics’ best fall/winter 2011 releases with this limited drop at both of Ronnie Fieg’s Kith locations in NYC and their online store. This small run includes the three Asics Gel Lyte IIIs that hit Euro retailers last July as well as a black GT-II blocked similarly to the pair that just dropped a couple weeks back. All four will arrive at select additional retailers by mid-February, so click through to see more angles and let us know which pair is best.

2012 is barely a month old and it’s already shaping up to be a great year for Asics. Between the colorful in-house designs and promises of more Ronnie Fieg goodness though, the lineup has been a little short on more understated looks. Fortunately, the impeccably clean ‘Yin & Yang’ pairs first previewed here have finally popped up. Sticking strictly to black and white, they mirror each other in the distribution of those two tones, hence the nickname. Going with the Yin & Yang theme, does that mean that you can’t have one without the other? We’ll let you decide on that as you hit up Hanon for a pre-order after getting the full shots we’ve got waiting for you.

After Patta’s Gel Saga touched down right before the end of the year, the Asics preview earning the most attention was another release from that recently revived model that borrowed from another golden era running legend. And it turns out the Onitsuka Tiger wasn’t done utilizing the early-’90s time capsule ‘Infrared’ look there, as a new Asics Gel Lyte III has popped up with a darker take on the bright red-accented style. They’re joined by a new Gel Lytespeed design that’s based on primary colors, but with the red leaning toward orange and more of a navy blue than classic royal. They’re sufficiently different so as to appeal to every taste, and they just dropped today at Crooked Tongues.

If you’ve been paying attention to all the Asics heat we’ve been showing off around here as of late, you’ll recall an upcoming Asics Gel Saga in a clean infrared colorway as a standout. That upcoming banger is actually an echo of the Asics Gel-Lyte Speed shown here, which uses a bright yellow rather than the burning red as the accenting color. It even brings in a bit of cement-like speckling on the midsole, a touch we’ve seen to great effect on the Asics Gel-Lyte III. These started hitting select overseas retailers at the tail end of 2011, but if you’re still on the hunt for a pair, then hit up Germany’s own Afew Store after you check the full photos we’ve got lined up.

Black and gold has long been a popular pick leading up to February thanks to the Black History Month tie in. Whether or not this new Asics GT-II colorway was serendipitously scheduled or explicitly picked to hit around this time for a reason remains unclear, but it’s a good look either way so we’ll take it. Kicking off what is poised to be a big year for Asics, this retro runner sticks with the classic suede and mesh combo, letting the darker tones dominate the upper. The gold sweeps in through the side slashes Asics branding, a look we’ve seen atmos grab for their various Asics team ups. Follow us after the jump for the full look and pick these up from the appropriately named Asphalt Gold in Germany.

Remember those dope ‘Infrared’ Gel Sagas we showed you on Wednesday? Bad news is, Asics won’t be bringing them out until the second half of this year. But so that we might sooth the pain of this wait, here’s a set of new images from the Asics FW’12 preview at Agenda, including a bunch of other classic runners set to start releasing in about six months. Joining those Gel Sagas is the workhorse Asics Gel-Lyte III itself coming in an orange-accented early ’90s kind of look, as well as another that goes the high contrast route with grape-y accents on a black base. Last but not least is a GT-II that uses those same contrast hits on a white and grey base for a much different end result, and you can see images of all four pairs in more images below. Expect these sometime before the end of 2012 and check back with Sneaker News to know exactly when. via HB
