Afew x Koi Klub x Asics Gel Lyte III

Yeah we’ve got at least one steady stream of collabo Asics models here in the US, but the folks around the rest of the world have a much easier time grabbing these kind up team-ups. This latest brings in two oustide entities, Koi Klub of Japan and Afew out in Germany, to work on the beloved split-tongue banger the Asics Gel Lyte III in celebration of Germany’s “Japan Day” on June 2nd. The colorblocking is apparently anchored by the Japanese aspect, their Nisshōki flag oozing through the details with the red, white, and black palette as well as the circular hit towards the heel. Click through for the teaser of the Afew x Koi Klub x Asics Gel Lyte III, which will launch at the Japan Day celebration on June 2nd at Afew in Dussledorf, coinciding with some Japanese BBQ and an exhibition by artist Yoske Nishiumi.

Asics Gel Saga Orange Blaze

Sneaker News gave you proof earlier in the form of an upcoming Gel Lyte II: Asics isn’t solely hunting for guest designers, and now we see another addition to a drop that’d be right at home once the fall season is upon us.  These aren’t another in the long and still growing line of camouflage sneakers, but rather an allusion to the high-visibility garb worn by outdoorsmen to alert one another to the presence of a fellow hunter.  The Asics Gel Saga pictured above shares Orange Blaze accents with that aforementioned GL3, but its use of a larger percentage of black on the upper pushes these in the direction of Halloween.  Yet another reason these would be perfectly timed for the fall season, so check out more shots below and stick with Sneaker News for word on US availability.  via Sneaker Freaker

Asics Gel Lyte III Orange Blaze

Asics is gearing up for collabos with Berlin’s Solebox and Rotterdam’s Woei, a two-pack with Perth’s Highs & Lows and a ‘Five Rings’ Olympic set to open the doors at Bait in Orange County, CA, but that doesn’t mean they’re stretched beyond the point of coming up with sick new in-house designs.  Quite the contrary, in fact, and that relatively quiet work is every bit as solid as the guest spots thanks to standout designs like this new Asics Gel Lyte III.  The earliest images of this ‘Orange Blaze’ pair and especially its Gel Saga counterpart from last fall suggested they were in the Infrared range, but these new photos give a truer sense of the vibrant accent shade you’ll see on the tongue, laces and outsole.  Whether these’ll be out for toward the early part of their fall/winter 2012 release window or you’ll have to wait until fall hunting season remains to be seen, and you can get a close-up view after the jump in the meantime.  via Sneaker Freaker

Bait x Asics Gel Saga Rings Pack Black

We’ve shown you both of each their GT-IIs and Gel Lyte IIIs, so what does the PYS-affiliated Bait retail spot have on tap as the fifth member of its Asics ‘Rings Pack’ collaboration?  The Bait x Asics Gel Saga features a simple black/grey/white design that’s easily the calmest of the five, a subtle look befitting the only silo chosen just once for this quintet.  They also happen to reside in a section of the color wheel that’s been arguably the single most popular this spring; might this premium perfed-out Gel Saga have what it takes to beat the other four Asics x Bait collabos to the finish line?  Stick with Sneaker News to find out when they release and check out detailed images of this pair (including the golden footbed) below.  via Sneaker Freaker

Bait x Asics Gel Lyte III Rings Pack Green

Sneaker News has now shown you both of the GT-IIs they have on tap for June’s ‘opening ceremonies’, and now we’ll move on to Bait’s Gel Lyte III collabo designs.  Just like the GTs, there are two Bait x Asics Gel Lyte IIIs coming up from their ‘Rings Pack’, though this first goes a bit further outside those traditional five colors than any of the others.  Thanks to purple accents including the laces and 90% of the outsole, these have a ‘Grape’ look to them, a fairly loose interpretation of the ‘Green Ring’ that’s typically presented in more of a kelly shade.  Click through to see how the asymmetrically colored netting on this canvas GL3 makes for a nice detail that’s easy to overlook and stick with Sneaker News for the last Gel Lyte III x Bait as well as their Gel Saga collab.  via Sneaker Freaker

Bait x Asics GT II Rings Pack Yellow

The as yet unopened boutique Bait has a name that reflects the careful teasing with which it’s being rolled out, and it looks like they’ll have something to lure everyone when their doors open to sunny Orange County, California this June.  Fresh off the revelation of their Saucony Grid 9000 comes the first individual looks at the Bait x Asics ‘Rings Pack’, a quintet of classic runners that represent the five rings of the Olympic flag.  This ‘Yellow Ring’ Asics GT-II is a sign of things to come from this collection, as the guest designers add an extra layer of complexity via carefully chosen asymmetrical colorblocking.  Click through to see the subtle differences from lateral to medial and stick with Sneaker News for detailed looks at all five of the Asics ‘Rings Pack’ designs.  via Sneaker Freaker

Bait x Asics Gel Lyte III Rings Pack Blue

Sneaker News continues our exposition of the Bait x Asics ‘Rings Pack’ with the second and final Gel Lyte III, a model that might be the most eye-catching of the entire set.  The other Bait x Asics Gel Lyte III also features a bit of asymmetrical blocking in its own right, but instead of a subtle switch of the medial netting, this leather ‘AquaFresh’ combo gives far more the accent shade as red takes over not just the entire side panel and midsole, but also the inner half of the GL3′s signature split tongue.  So both on paper and in terms of sheer visual impact, these might turn out to be the most explosive of the set; where do they rank in your personal podium?  Let us know after checking out more photos on the other side and stick with Sneaker News for a look at Bait’s Gel Saga.  via Sneaker Freaker

Bait x Asics GT II Rings Pack Red

The Bait x Asics ‘Five Rings’ pack includes three silhouettes spread across five colorways symbolizing the quadrennially ubiquitous Olympic flag.  Following up on the ‘Yellow Ring’ GT-II, this pair pictured above now represents both the wrap-up for that silo in this set and the ‘Red Ring’ from that quintet of interlocking circles.  These Bait x Asics GT-IIs are the most aggressive of the entire collection, their bold Chicago-style palette made all the more eye-catching thanks to reflective 3M treatments on the side panel striping.  They don’t have an asymmetrical element as in the case of the yellow edition, but does this sneakerhead favorite colorway has what it takes to come home with the gold?  Let us know after you’ve had a chance to check out more images below, and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for updates on the Bait x Asics Gel Lyte IIIs and Gel Saga, as well as release info for the entire ‘Five Rings’ pack.  via Sneaker Freaker
