The ASICS GEL-Terrain “Future Collide” Brings Y2K Aesthetics Outdoors

Having already been graced by Kiko Kostadinov and Comme des Garçons since its early 2024 debut, the ASICS GEL-Terrain leaps back into the spotlight with a unique “Future Collide” theme on a new general release pair. The inspiration behind the shoe lies at the intersection of nature and the digital world, two considerations that speak to ASICS’ successful embrace of current footwear trends.

Official images reveal a balanced mix of futuristic and traditional elements in lockstep with the colorway’s namesake, carried by liberal TPU overlays on the quarter and forefoot. The most apparent “Y2K” callback is a reflective panel on the heel, complemented by salmon pink hits on the heel, sole, and laces for lively contrast against a black base. Herringbone underlays and contemporary black/brown accents define the “traditional” half of the design, appearing prominently on the heel to round out the look.

The “Future Collide” ASICS GEL-Terrain is available now on the ASICS Australia website, but no word has been mentioned regarding a stateside drop date. Return to our Sneaker Release Dates page for updates while we keep our ears up for new information, and in the meantime, enjoy official images below.
