If this weekend wasn’t circled on your calendar to shell out some extra cash for a brand new pair, there are more than a few reasons to do so. First, there’s the Nike Kobe 9 Elite making its return in high-top form with this Legacy colorway drenched in a hypnotizing Brave Blue. The Nike Air Foamposite One “Wheat” will finally see a release after the sneakerboot inspired Foamposite was pushed back a handful of times. And if you’re looking for a more luxurious take on classic sneaker inspiration, look no further than the Air Jordan Future PRM with a Jordan Shine-like leather woven upper (this of course will run you $375). Deciding will be the difficult part of the weekend, but get a full look at sneakers releasing this Saturday, October 18th after the break and let us know which pair you’re hoping to pick up in the comments section.

Sneaker Freaker x Asics Gel Kayano Trainer “Melvin” – Release Date

October 15th, 2014 by | No comments

melvin asics sneaker freaker 4 Sneaker Freaker x Asics Gel Kayano Trainer Melvin Release Date

The Sneaker Freaker x ASICS Gel Kayano Trainer “Melvin” will release on November 1st, 2014. Considering this collaborative model is slated for a fall arrival, its clear that the dark, bold tones represent a change in climate while equally acting as a continuation to its highly coveted predecessor, the “Alvin Purple.” Unlike the “Alvin,” the “Melvin” is canvased over the Gel Kayano Trainer, basking in premium updates including an elastic neoprene sockliner and rubber heel cage. An infusion of glittered 3M covers the cage, paired with plush black suede and mesh construction throughout the upper. Bright yellow accents along the paneling and outsole provide even greater distinction, while polka dot laces add yet another layer of prestige. To conclude, the “Melvin” pays tribute to its pops with a splash of purple across the heel. Check out the photos below for one more look and let us know if you’re looking to cop these on Saturday at spots like Oneness.

Asics Gel Lyte V – Black – Neon

asics gel lyte v black neon 01 Asics Gel Lyte V Black Neon

The Asics Gel Lyte V spends so much time getting premium treatments from outside influences – the most recent of which is that Good Will Out collaboration – that it’s easy to forget the sneaker is still capable of standing out on its own with in-house colorways breaking new ground. Sure, Volt-like greens are usually reserved for Swoosh-donning pairs, but when put in the context of this retro Asics runner, the aesthetic is just jarring enough to turn heads. With black suede, reflective branding on the side panel and a heavy dose of the standout accent, this sleek Gel Lyte V ditches the tonal fall tradition we’ve come so accustomed to. We’re still waiting to confirm a stateside release date, but are you feeling this vibrant take? Check out more photos after the break and be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

asics gt cool tan white Asics GT Cool Tan Black

Will the Asics GT-Cool ever have its moment in the collab sun? The shoe has been pretty stubborn as far as partnerships go – Extra Butter had their way with the shoe and there are images of an upcoming Ronnie Fieg take on them, but other than that things have been pretty quiet. That’s not to say that there aren’t inline pairs in the mix though, the latest of which is this tan tone pair that’s got a little bit of overlap in colors with the “Honey Mustard” Asics Gel Lyte III. Check additional angles on them below and watch with us for a US drop.

Asics Gel Saga “Christmas Pack”

asics gel saga christmas pack 01 Asics Gel Saga Christmas Pack

Even before the Halloween candy is distributed from door to door, big sneaker brands are already giving previews of what’s in store for their Holiday 2014 lineup. This year Asics will be doling out a few brand new Gel Sagas, keeping a formulaic color blocking intact for each pair. A contrasting perforated toebox offsets the buttery suede seen throughout each model, as deep colors like Burgundy and Forest Green nod at the festive season. Not pictured here is the third pair – initially seen in the first preview of the “Christmas Pack” for Holiday 2014 - which will feature a cool grey aesthetic with mismatched gold laces. Which Asics Gel Saga are you feeling? Feel free to stick with us after the break for a  better view and stay tuned for more Holiday 2014 release updates right here on Sneaker News.

The Good Will Out x Asics Gel Lyte V “Koyo”

the good will out asics gel lyte v koyo The Good Will Out x Asics Gel Lyte V Koyo

The next Asics Gel Lyte V collaboration comes from Germany by way of Japan – this pair from The Good Will Out is titled the “Koyo” and references the autumnal colors of Japan. The upper itself sort of transformations in color just like the season it’s based on – there are three different reds that give it a shifting, tonal feel. Particularly flavorful this time around are the crinkled sections on the back that have sort of a leafy feel to them and the graphic sockliners that are a bit more direct. Get a detailed look at the The Good Will Out x Asics Gel Lyte V “Koyo” below and watch for them to launch at TGWO on Saturday, October 18th, with a worldwide launch slated for the following weekend.
