“Orange Lily” Blooms On The ASICS GT-2160

The ASICS GT-2160 has established itself as a true catalog favorite, both for consumers and for a host of collaborative partners that have taken to the silhouette in the past 12 months. With that increased attention comes increased demand, something that ASICS seeks to answer with new in-line formulations, like the latest “Orange Lily” colorway to dress the model.

You can instantly clock the color swatch at play, a mix of grey mesh and metallic leather that once defined the runners industry in the 2000s and now rules the 2020s as those styles return to the mainstream. The titular “Orange Lily” goes a long way in adding contrast to that familiar palette, painting over connective leather overlays and appearing in slight accents on the midsole, tongue and cross-hatch ASICS branding.

For those tapped in to runners news, the palette at play here runs exactly counter to the one that dressed the ASICS GEL-Nimbus 9 just a week ago. While two shoes is not enough to fully draw a pattern, the increased profile of the titular “Orange Lily” could mean this will serve as signature color combination for the Japanese company this Spring.
