It’s been an amazing two years since Sneakerpedia first opened up to sneakerheads worldwide, and since then, over twenty thousands have joined in to digitally record their sneaker collections. Some unique data has been pulled by the folks over at Sneakerpedia, like the oldest sneaker (a pair of Chuck Taylors from the 1920s), the most expensive (…we don’t need roads), and much more. As part of the two-year anniversary celebration, Sneakerpedia will launch the “Crate of the Year” competition, which aims to crown the best Sneakerpedia Crate to date! If you haven’t joined in on the Sneakerpedia community yet, join here for free and check out the some of the cool info below.

After the tragic events at the Boston Marathon one month ago, Packer Shoes quickly bounced into the aid effort by donating all of its proceeds from the sales of its New Balance “Boston Marathon” releases. The outpour of charity-driven purchases and additional donations allowed Packer Shoes to donate a hefty amount to the Dorchester Boys and Girls Club, where Martin Richard, the 8-year-old victim of the attacks, spent a bulk of his free time. Packer Shoes would like to continue the effort by donating 10% of its sales from May 15th to May 31st directly to the Dorchester Boys and Girls Club. Along with purchases made between now and the end of the month, customers also have the opportunity to donate more at their own discretion. Read Packer Shoes’ full statement below, and head to Packer Shoes to purchase kicks and contribute to an honorable cause.

You thought the Chicago sneaker scene was strictly about Air Jordans? The recent Sneaker Con stop there proved that wrong, as the heads who showed up showed a willingness to defy His Airness with wears from across a ton of brands. Notables include upcoming Nike LeBron X releases, plenty of classic Nike Air Max material, hard to track down heat like the just released Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III “ECP” pairs, some stuff from the Packer x Reebok output, and yes-tons of Air Jordan gems. Continue reading for the on-feet recap and let us know if Chicago’s Sneaker Con showout surprised you with the variety of on-feet stuff.

Sneaker Con took the Windy City by storm once again, touching down in Chicago this past Saturday, May 11th. The event was one of the largest Sneaker Con showings to date, with over 60 vendor tables propped up throughout the event space peddling all kinds of crazy heat. Matching that of course were the wares and wears brought by attendees, who showed up with hard to find Nike Basketball pairs, Nike Air Yeezys, Air Jordan relics, and more. Continue reading for the event recap from Sneaker Con Chicago May 2013 and stay tuned for an on-feet specific group of photos later on. Also, don’t forget that the next stop of the Sneaker Con Summer 2013 tour is Atlanta on June 15th.
