The Jordan Brand family is a big one, with athletes in all sorts of disciplines getting outfitted with special footwear and the like by them. On the boxing side of things they’ve got fighter Andre Ward, who apparently just passed this rather Air Jordan 5-looking pair of boxing shoes to fan Kevin Durant. The sneakers borrow heavily from MJ’s fifth between the lacelock, heel area wrap, and overall shape. See the full shot for them below and then let us know in the comments if you like pugilist take on the Air Jordan V.

nike zoom vapor tour 9 wimbledon 2014 roger federer Roger Federers Nike Zoom Vapor Tour 9.5 for Wimbledon

Special sneakers for Wimbledon 2014 extend well beyond just those Nike Air Tech Challenge IIs that you’ve been trying to track down. While Nike holds down the retro front with Agassi offerings like those, the more modern, performance realm is headed up by Roger Federer and this pair of the Nike Zoom Vapor Tour 9.5. The sneakers stay pretty close to the guidelines for that event and feature a trophy hit on the backside reminding us the number of times that he has emerged triumphant from that event. Take another look after the break and give us your thoughts on the RF shoes in the comments.

nike hyper rev be true Nike Zoom Hyperrev #BETRUE

The 2014 Nike #BETRUE collection extends beyond that small set of sneakers and apparel that already made their way to retail. Also included in the group is this version of the Nike Zoom Hyperrev, which appears to be a player exclusive only affair at the moment. As of now we’ve seen a handful of WNBA stars touting the sneakers, which end up with a graphic print that’s a little more intricate than that found on the aforementioned retail set. See the shoes below and tell us in the comments if you’re feeling the Nike Zoom Hyperrev #BETRUE pair.

Nike Zoom KD 4 “Three4Five” PE on eBay

June 18th, 2014 by | 1 comment

kd 4 three4five pe Nike Zoom KD 4 Three4Five PE on eBay

One of the rarest PE colorways of the Nike Zoom KD legacy is this Three4Five PE, which features a graphic of Kevin Durant riding a bike. Quite a random concept to put together, but the silhouette of the bike-riding KD is from a Nike t-shirt designed by an artist named Swank One. The shoes do look like a NIKEiD mash up of colors, but the shoes never did release, have that crazy logo on the heel, and featured Three4Five on the tongue (come to think of it, this PE has no KD logos on the upper). It’s not often these KD shoes come around, so check out the photos below and cop ‘em now from ro.47 on eBay.

Sneaker News NINE@NINE: NBA Finals MVP Sneakers

The poor Spurs. We’re not too sure that they mind having their championship celebration immediately overshadowed by talk of where LeBron will end up by next season’s start, but for the past 2 decades, San Antonio has handled business as usual regardless of whether they win a championship or not. Kawhi Leonard’s Air Jordan XX8 SE PEs had a similar thought process throughout the NBA Finals, but previous Finals PEs took a different approach (just as long as they were produced by the Swoosh, that is). Today’s NINE@NINE takes a look back at the past decade of NBA Finals MVPs to get a close look at what exactly they were wearing, and the silhouettes featured are as diverse as the past champions themselves. From Dwyane Wade hoisting his first championship trophy in a Converse shoe, to a Paul Pierce signature sneaker that never even saw a retail release, the list serves as a reminder of the transformation of the Finals as a time for brands to showcase their design skills through special edition colorways. Stick with us to check out what the last nine NBA Finals MVPs wore en route to the Bill Russell trophy in our latest Sneaker News NINE@NINE feature, and let us know which pair is your favorite in the comments.

Air Jordan 8 – Chris Paul Hornets “Away” PE on eBay

air jordan 8 hornets home cp3 Air Jordan 8 Chris Paul Hornets Away PE on eBay

Chris Paul’s time as a member of the New Orleans Hornets will be forever enshrined with his 2008 trip to the Conference Semis in which his squad took the Spurs to the brink of elimination. CP3 also had his fair share of Air Jordan retro player exclusives, the most infamous of which was this Air Jordan 8 PE. Featuring a home scheme, the pair dons a plethora of the added yellow accent color that the team rocked once in New Orleans as it’s found on the Jumpman tongue logo and ’23′ numbers on the strap as teal marks the silhouette throughout. And although the man now resides in LA as a perrenial All-Star, it’s always fun to think of the time when the upstart Hornets almost dethroned the champs before being disassembled into oblivion. Get a better look at this rare PE below and pick up the pair today via jonallon80 on eBay.

Air Jordan 3 – Colorado Rockies PE Cleats

June 16th, 2014 by | 1 comment

air jordan 3 colorado rockies pe cleats 01 570x425 Air Jordan 3 Colorado Rockies PE Cleats

The Air Jordan 3 naturally lends itself to be a great PE when transformed into a cleat bottom thanks to the color blocking of the elephant print disguising the lunarlon midsole and making the change all the less noticeable. We’ve seen some great exclusives recently too, whether it was the Terrell Owens Seattle Seahawks pair or this recently found ‘Colorado Rockies’ PE. Sticking with the traditional cement elephant pattern, the cleat gets an interesting white accent color instead of the more obvious choice of black, while a purple base stands out. What do you think of this purple Colorado Rockies referencing PE Cleat? As always stick around after the click for more images and if you’re truly feeling this pair know that you can grab them via marcieandlouise on eBay.
