The first round of the NBA Playoffs continued this past weekend, with the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs punching their tickets to Round 2 by way of a four-game sweep. For the fourth straight Playoff Game, LeBron James whipped out a different PE colorway of the Nike LeBron X Elite – this time in a Red/Black “Alternate” colorway. Some nice Air Jordans hit the court, like Kenyon Martin’s Air Jordan IX “Fontay Montana” and Joe Johnson’s Air Jordan XI Low. The adidas CrazyQuick was also spotted in several colorways, like Taj Gibson’s Red/Black colorway and the Black/White version worn by Iman Shumpert. There’s a brand new Air Jordan VIII colorway coming this year, one that’s been given the “Knicks” association here and there. Of course that designation isn’t an official one, and there’s been a good amount of discussion as to whether or not the Knick-name is a proper one. If you’re looking for a more official AJVIII with that look then this should do. Shown is an Air Jordan VIII Low for Jared Jeffries, sporting a black base with orange and royal for the Knickerbocker theme. Last season the New York Knicks was pretty stacked with Jordan Brand athletes. Carmelo was at their lead, and both Jared Jeffries and Mike Bibby were also out in the Big Apple. It was Jeffries second stint in NYC, meaning that he already had plenty of blue and orange Air Jordan retros to select from. This pair was one of them, an Air Jordan VIII Low presumably whipped up for his time with the team in the earlier part of the millennium. A final recap of the week brings some new headlines, as some of the NBA’s biggest stars bring forth some great PEs over the last two nights. LeBron James followed up his Home PE with a Nike LeBron X Elite “Away” PE, while teammate Dwyane Wade wore the Li-Ning Way of Wade Encore in an “Away” version. Monta Ellis countered with the Air Jordan VII “Hare” in a losing effort. Russell Westbrook brought out the Air Jordan XX8 “White/Black” PE, and KD did his own thing with the “Playoffs Home” colorway of the KD V Elite. Finally, Joe Johnson did his best against the Bulls while wearing the Air Jordan XI Low, while Nate Robinson countered with the Air Jordan XIII “Playoffs”. More PE headlines from the 2013 NBA Playoffs emerge as we get a look at a near all-white PE of the Air Jordan XX8 on the feet of Russell Westbrook during last night’s Game 2 showdown between the Thunder and the Rockets. We already showed you the PEs that Westbrook was given, but it only took one game for him to switch up into something else, but these do feature the stylized perforations on the upper. This sick colorway of the Nike Kobe 8 Elite is a bit of a sore sight. While the “Lakers” colorway is pretty darn impressive of the Elite model, we know this is the shoe (and according to the source of this photo, the exact shoe) that Kobe Bryant sustained the season-ending and Championship-erasing injury right before the regular season came to a close. To make things even more of a pain, we know that these won’t release because Leo Chang confirmed that only two colorways of the Nike Kobe 8 Elite will release (the Black/Gold in June and this weekend’s “Superhero”). We hope there are some change of plans coming soon because these would be really nice on feet, so check out the extra shot (as well as another look at the Nike Kobe 8 “Blackout” PE) below and let us know if you’d like to see these release.

This year’s Black History Month collection of footwear releases and PEs by Nike Basketball might’ve been the best we’ve ever seen, because some players continued wearing their pairs long after the appointed month of February was over! The sick graphic on the upper with reflective detailing was the perfect representation of the historical roots of Black History, making these some of the most sought-after kicks of the year. The Nike Hyperdunk 2012 Low never released to the public as only a select number of guards in the Nike Basketball roster wore these, but check out this multi-angle look courtesy of neveaux92 on eBay.

Still need a dose of Area 72? Here’s a nice detailed look at the Nike Hyperdunk 2012 Low “Area 72″ PE that never released to the public; it features the extraterrestrial graphic on the interior lining with the Area 72 emblem on the insole, but an interesting detail on these shoes is the Year of the Dragon logo seen in the 2012 release of the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Low “Son of Dragon” Pack that had a bit of a Jeremy Lin tie-in.
