Air Jordan VII – White – Purple – Red – Green | Unreleased OG Sample

air jordan vii original 1992 sample white green red purple 2 Air Jordan VII White Purple Red Green | Unreleased OG Sample

The Air Jordan VII was said to be inspired by African tribal art, which is clearly reflected in the wild multi-colored tongue graphic and the distinct peaks on the forefoot and heel of the midsole. It allowed for some unique colorways to become produced – most notably the “Bordeaux” colorway which stands as one of the most off-centered colorways in Air Jordan history. This incredible unreleased sample from 1992 also sheds light on the intense color compositions that were in place, with a White/Purple/Red/Green combination speaking to that African inspiration (and would actually work as a Ray Allen Milwaukee Bucks PE, like the one we showed you some time ago). What’s even more interesting is that the upper mixes a nubuck material on the purple portions and white tumbled leather for an even greater contrast. Check out the extra shots of this rare eye-candy below!

Air Jordan IX Low – 1993 Prototype

air jordan ix low 1993 prototype Air Jordan IX Low 1993 Prototype

It’s a bit overwhelming when you look back at all the crazy sneaker designs that came out of Tinker Hatfield’s imagination, but there has to be a number of unreleased mock-ups that never saw the light of the day. One of those scrapped models is this prototype of the Air Jordan IX Low; it features the same midsole construction as the Air Jordan IX, but the upper adopts a much more “lifestyle” approach with the classic toe-box and heel build while managing to distinguish itself with the diamond-stitching and tiny triangular perforations. Your thoughts on this prototype of the Air Jordan IX Low? Check out the full shot below and chime in.

air jordan v melo elephant print Air Jordan V Melo + Elephant Samples

Is a huge celebration in the works for the Air Jordan V? Some excitement has been stirring since we saw the Air Jordan V “Melo” some time ago, and with last year’s Air Jordan V “Elephant” resurfacing after it first revealed itself in 2012, we could be in for some incredible releases later on. Of course, these are just samples at this point and could be a PE for Carmelo alone, but the Elephant Print sample, which was originally rumored to be the Doernbecher release in 2012, might be due up for a Fall 2013 release based on our last report. In any case, a release of either pair would be much celebrated, so let us know which of the two you like better and stay tuned to Sneaker News for all your Air Jordan release info and updates.

dunkman elite samples 9 Nike LeBron Elite Volt Dunkman Sample on eBay

All the LeBron chatter has been around the Nike LeBron X Elite, with some notable focus going on the Nike LeBron X Elite iD priced up to a whopping $390 before applicable fees. That’s slowly creeping up to prices of unreleased samples and PEs, but at the same time, the heightened prices of Nike LeBrons have only driven up the asking prices of these unreleased specialties. Take the “Volt Dunkman” sample of the Nike LeBron 9 Elite, which continues to pop its head up sporadically; while the colorway is something sneakerheads would’ve loved to see on store shelves, the asking price for these gems have gone up considerably since we first showed them off some time ago. In any case, if you have the money to burn or would like to see what the price is, see the listing from zwchiti on eBay.

jordan son of mars low dark sea sample 1 Jordan Son of Mars Low Dark Sea Sample

Fresh off its first releases this month, the Jordan Son of Mars Low is making a big impact with a variety of colorways previewed.  This one is a sample whose retail status is unknown as of this writing, but one that we could fairly confidently predict would make a big splash (especially for the brand new main color) should it hit during the summer months.  A spin on the ‘South Beach’ family of palettes that’s been extremely popular for the past couple years, this Dark Sea Son of Mars Low adds Gym Red touches along with black and white on the sole, plus a fruit loop-ish print on the sockliner.  Check out how the deep turquoise color gives an aquatic edge to the Elephant print and stick with Sneaker News to see if this colorway is coming your way.

Air Jordan IX – Black – Mesa Orange – Dark Grey | Unreleased Sample

April 29th, 2013 by | 13 comments

air jordan ix black mesa orange cool grey sample 2 Air Jordan IX Black Mesa Orange Dark Grey | Unreleased Sample

The Holiday 2012 season saw enough Air Jordan IX releases to last the next decade, but it appears that Jordan Brand might have had another one up its sleeve as we get a first look at an unreleased colorway. Intended for a Holiday 2012 release, this Air Jordan IX Retro combines Black, Mesa Orange, and Dark Grey in a nubuck upper for a rather clean color-combo that we’ve never seen on an Air Jordan Retro. While the shoe is a predominant mix of Black, Grey, and White, the hits of Mesa Orange on the heel Jumpman and the badges on the heel give these Retros a really nice color-profile, but the release of the “Cool Grey” probably made these a bit too redundant. We’ve got a first look before so check out this unreleased sample below and see the full listing from jordunk23 on eBay.

Nike Zoom KD IV “Black/Gold” PE

April 29th, 2013 by | 4 comments

nike kd iv black gold pe 2 Nike Zoom KD IV Black/Gold PE

We’re rewinding a bit to the Nike KD IV today to this Black/Gold PE that Kevin Durant wore during pre-game warm-ups in Game 3 of the 2012 NBA Finals. While the Black/Gold may hint at a potential Nike KD IV Elite sample, these appear to be the basic model as it doesn’t show hints of the pronounced Flywire upper on the lateral side of the shoe. In addition, the actual Nike Zoom KD IV Elite sample that we saw in Leo’s hands doesn’t feature a gold stripe below the velcro. Now that Durant’s name is a mainstay in the Nike Basketball Elite line for years and years to come (or as long as the Elite line exists), do you wish the Nike KD IV released in Elite form last year? Check out the additional photos of this Black/Gold PE below and let us know what you think.

We’re pretty sure that the Nike Zoom Stefan Janoski is picking up plenty of new fans in 2013. What may end up in the same vein is this, a version that combines an an all-over pink foil upper with a cleanly blocked white outsole.
