Louis Vuitton Once Made A fragment design x Air Jordan 1 From Epi Leather

Louis Vuitton and NIKE, Inc. have cemented their partnership with the help of the late Virgil Abloh, but the two had seemingly worked on a Swoosh-branded project back in 2014. The outcome?: A fragment design x Air Jordan 1 constructed from the French fashion house’s Epi Leather.

Seemingly designed for Kim Jones, the London-native that served as Louis Vuitton’s creative director from 2011 to 2018, the pair is likely one-of-three, according to collector of rare sneakers, English Sole. The tri-color Air Jordan is reportedly not a custom or reconstructed version of the retail release from December ’14, but instead a pair constructed as other Epi Leather – a vegetable tanned leather that is dyed and finished with a protective, water resistant coating – products from L.V. Everything on the special Air Jordan 1 is identical to to pairs released by the Jumpman team eight years ago, but the newly-surfaced sample features wavy micro-ridges all-throughout the upper, denoting the leather’s special quality.

Enjoy a closer look at the pair ahead, courtesy of Instagram user @englishsole, and don’t expect the shoes to ever see a retail launch.
