adidas crazy 97 crocskin adidas Crazy 97 Crocskin

You’d think that if any animal print were to show up on the adidas Crazy 97 it would be snakeskin given the whole Black Mamba connection. And yet, adidas seems comfortable to avoid the low hanging fruit with this pair. The sneakers shown, once worn by Kobe Bryant himself as just alluded to, feature a nearly all black look along with some faux crocodile skin and just a little bit of yellow peeking out from the accents. See a 360 set of angles on them with us after the break and check back in on Sneaker News to find out when these adidas Crazy 97s will be at American sneaker stores.

Young New Orleans Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday was selected as the face of the Crazy Ghost, but it looks like he’s moved from cutting edge adidas basketball shoes to something with a bit more historical significance.  In the adidas Crazy 97 Holiday PE, we get a colorway on the shoe Kobe Bryant wore while winning the NBA Dunk Contest in his hometown of Philadelphia, that interestingly enough straddles the line between the 76ers for whom Holiday used to hoop, and the new look Pelicans.  Let us know how they compare to Iman Shumpert’s once you’ve seen more shots below, then cop yours at retailers like BAIT.

When Iman Shumpert showed up toward the end of last month wearing an adidas Crazy 97 in Knicks colors, the lack of any preview or release info suggested these would be exclusive to him.  That is still the case at least for now, but there’s another pair in New York colors with Shumpert’s ’21′ in the ankle logo that have just touched down.  This Crazy 97 Iman Shumpert edition has more grey than the orange pair we mentioned above, but shares the exact same tonal blue Stripes sweeping down into that FYW sole.  Let us know which of the NYK Crazy 97s you like best and if it’s this one, cop yours today straight from adidas.

The EQT Elevation began a trend of Kobe Bryant retros when it returned as the adidas Crazy 97 last September.  The name change brought these in line with the other adidas Kobe classics that had been shifted starting with the Crazy 8 (formerly KB 8).  Everything else has been kept like the original including that distinctive Feet You Wear tooling, but the colorway pictured above is pretty obviously a product of the 2010s.  It would be natural to peg this black pair with mint and pink accents as a ‘South Beach’ makeup, and no matter what you call it, you’ll find them in more photos after the jump, and available now straight from adidas.

adidas Crazy 97 White Black 01 570x570a adidas Crazy 97 White Black

With this release of the Crazy 97, adidas is taking a classic basketball silhouette and dressing it in an even more classic colorway. The upper on the shoes remains relatively plain, with an essentially even distribution of white and black. The only other color used on the shoe is the bright yellow that appears on the branding on the tongue and side of the shoe. Considering that the most recent colorway of this shoe that we have seen was an exclusive on Iman Shumpert’s feet, fans of the Crazy 97 will be happy to get their hands on these. Let us know in the comments how you feel about this colorway on the Crazy 97, and if you like them, pick them up today from Sneakersnstuff.
