The ‘Royal’ era of Penny’s career was officially over when he was traded to the Phoenix Suns to join Jason Kidd, but gladly the Purple/Orange colorway is just as flashy! Sometimes the simplest touches to a shoe transforms it into something exponentially better. That’s the basic formula that Jason Negron aka Sole Swap has gone after, as he’s mastered the art of the minor upgrade and created some of the best customs out there – mostly by changing the color of the sole. He hits the upcoming ‘Suns’ Foamposite release with a rather predictable upgrade (something that perhaps Nike should’ve done itself), pairing the Purple/Orange upper with a vibrant orange-tinted outsole. Oregon State isn’t quite as spoiled as the folks down in Eugene as far as Nike goodies go, but they still manage their share of Phil Knight love. Making up for the disparity a little bit is this latest bit of footwear from JP Custom Kicks, a Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Oregon State’ custom. The shoe is dipped with an all-over orange look and outfitted with some Beavers/OSU patches sort of in the same fashion as the ‘Ducks’ Foamposite from a while back. The recent Nike Air Fomaposite One ‘Stealth’ release was a no brainer for a lot of folks thanks to the neutral colorway offered up by the all black look. The custom scene no doubt went crazy for the model as well what with the bare bones look that provides such an easy canvas to work with. After last year’s Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Galaxy’ release, many looked forward to the recently passed 2013 All-Star Weekend for another standout hit in Foam form.
