The Converse Jack Purcell is making a trip out to Italy, getting remixed by the team at Slam Jam for Summer 2013. More than just a brand new color up for the classic badminton model, the Slam Jam x Converse First String Jack Purcell reworks the design just a bit by adding a red snap button on the side. The shoe was inspired by a “nautical summer journey” that the team took, hence the text extending down the tongue and the durable water-repellant canvas up top. Italy’s Slam Jam teases us with this toe-box shot of its upcoming Converse First String collaboration, using “red smiles and gum laces” as the tag-line for this visual hint. We can certainly expect something simplistic and clean from these fellas, who have proven time and time again that their concepts with sneakers have always been well-received by the sneaker community. Asics is ready to start the much-anticipated 2013 roll-out of its heritage footwear as the Slam Jam x Asics Gel Lyte III is set for a global release on January 26th. Featuring a mix of yellow and neon green on the upper with micro-perforations on the forefoot and a smooth leather on the rear, this latest creation by Slam Jam of Italy will be available exclusively at their stores on the 19th, followed by a wider release a week after at select retailers in Europe like Overkill shop. The Slam Jam x Asics Gel Lyte III project finally pops up again after several quiet months for the super bright collabo pair. The yellow and lime sneakers will be releasing at the Slam Jam spots in Milan and Ferrara on January 19th, 2013 and then online via Slam Jam come January 23rd (with a special pair of matching socks available if you show up to the former). On top of that the Asics Gel Lyte III shown will indeed be seeing a global release on January 26th. The Euros get an Asics runner right…again. For Slam Jam, this follow-up to their 2010 project brings in another array of in-your-face punchy colorblocking, pairing Buttercup Lime with a bright Yellow in an exciting package. A heavy focus is on materials once again; perforated premium leather, reflective Asics stripes, and a contrasting midsole sprayed with a noteworthy silver touch brings this design together for one of the most memorable Asics collaborations of the year.
