Nike’s ‘Son of’ nomenclature dates back to the All Conditions Gear line’s earliest days and the first Lava Dome sequel, around the same time that the Force vs. Flight battle begun. Nike Sportswear hasn’t used this naming convention despite all the designs they’ve derived from the classics, so this one breaks new ground by bringing up old design language. The Nike Son of Force Mid debuts with two new colorways that offer a clear 1980s basketball aesthetic without explicitly borrowing from any particular classic.
