Is the Nike Air Max LeBron VII the peak of Nike Basketball’s LeBron line? When Nike envisioned the surprising installment of LeBron’s seventh signature sneaker, they enlisted Jason Petrie to handle design duties. He then introduced Air Max for the first time in a LeBron model with patent leather and dynamic flywire following suit. One of the best special releases of the Nike LeBron 7 was the “Heroes Pack” which took inspiration from 3 of LeBron’s idols growing up in Michael Jordan, Penny Hardaway, and Deion Sanders. The LeBron 7 had already drawn comparisons to Mike’s eleventh model thanks to the patent leather mudguard and toecap, but here it deliberately featured a Cordura-esque nylon and ‘Bred’ colorway in honor of His Airness. Deion’s pair went all-red in honor of the classic Turf Trainers while premium metallic gold accents may have nodded at the year Primetime spent with the 49ers. But perhaps most memorable was the VII that honored Penny Hardaway, as his signature wavy font transformed the Swoosh in royal blue and black. What colorway was your favorite in the Heroes Pack?
