First Look At The Nike Zoom 2K

First Look At The Nike Zoom 2K

Nike’s design ethos from the early ’00s is the stuff of legend. The Swoosh’s eye for futuristic detail was on full display, with aggressive styling, bold branding, and ahead of their time sneakers that still look futuristic almost two decades later. Now, the Swoosh Brand is refrencing their performance design aesthetic from the turn of the century with a brand-new silhouette: the womens-only Zoom 2K, a shoe that’s seemingly a mix of a basketball shoe and a cross-trainer. Featuring a low-slung sock upper encased in a shell of leather and mesh, the Zoom 2K’s most unique design detail arrives via a large plastic midfoot piece that reaches from the outsole all the way up to the exposed ankle collar. A classic Zoom Air badge appears on the heel, and more Zoom branding adorns the eyelets. The eye-catching design is then rounded off by an abstract overlay on the toebox and a striking midsole. With an aesthetic that’s reminiscent of both the Air Swoopes and the Zoom Citizen, the Zoom 2K is sure to delight retro lovers and new-age sneakerheads as well. It’ll drop in three colorways — black/white, white/silver, and a tonal purple/pink — so stay tuned for further release information as it’s available.
