One leg of BAPE‘s diffusion line, AAPE+ creates their own capsule of footwear inspired by some trending high fashion silhouettes as well as a few performance-driven subcultures. The first high-top option, dubbed poetically as the Awakening EX, takes after Balenciaga’s staple Speed Trainer in likeness, though its open knit weave incorporates high tech elements and extra breathability. Utilitarian straps arrive by way of an ape-faced buckled with screen printed logo hits boldly calling to the sub-label along the embellished top line. Lower in stature yet much more aggressively modified, the Potential SS (short for Shadow Spirit) nods to the sport of Kendo while fusing its inspiration with the straps of a motorcycle boot. Black paint splatters add more intricacy to the white midsole with branding keeping in line with its contemporaries along its various adhesive fasteners.

Grab a detailed look at each of the total three — as well as their three color variants — below and find them to first roll out to SneakerCon Shanghai during their May 17th to 19th dates and then worldwide on May 25th.
