Nike Continues To Ride The Tech Runner Wave With The Air Pegasus 2K5

The running shoe, nearly two decades old, appears in a stealthy colorway.

Nike Continues To Ride The Tech Runner Wave With The Air Pegasus 2K5

As consumers continue to be unforgiving about their requirements of comfort and style, the tech runner trend still remains strong. Of all the competing brands providing answers to this demand, Nike has been pushing quite strong with their arsenal of running-turned-lifestyle footwear, relying heavily on existing models from decades ago.

The Air Pegasus 2K5 is at the forefront of that movement. Debuting earlier this year, the silhouette has been running a bit behind of its much more popular sibling, the Zoom Vomero 5. Despite carrying similar principles in comfort, the 2K5 hasn’t been able to maintain parallel movement with that model despite being $10 cheaper. Perhaps the closeness of pricepoint is its biggest opp, because why wouldn’t one upgrade to the better model for a measly Hamilton?

That’s not taking away from the Pegasus 2k5 at all; it’s one of the better tech runner options on the market, but when nearly every release can be had for a discount, you’re better off waiting. This upcoming Black/Metallic Silver colorway, despite how good it looks, is also one of those top-level discount finds. It hasn’t released yet, but it’ll arrive soon on Nike.com for $150 and we suggest you wait for these to hit the sales racks if you can be patient.
