LaMelo Ball has cemented himself and his PUMA MB.01 signature shoe as forces to be reckoned with in less than two years in the NBA. Ahead of the post-season, the 20-year-old is celebrating the home of his Charlotte Hornets squad with a “Queen City” colorway of his highly-praised sneaker.
Debuted on-court in Cleveland, Ohio on February 18th, the PUMA offering is entirely inspired by the North Carolina destination the youngest Ball brother has helped reenergize since he joined the Hornets in 2020. Rich purple overtakes most of the MB.01, which features a breathable mesh upper coupled with Nitro Foam cushioning to create one of the most exciting debut signature sneakers in recent memory. Vibrant teal also enters the mix on the “Queen City” makeover, landing on the toe, vamp and tongue.
The latest LaMelo Ball shoes don’t stand alone in honoring the city of Charlotte. In addition to the pair’s launch, PUMA Hoops and Ball came together to refurbish two courts at the L.C. Coleman Neighborhood Park, located at 1501 McDonald Street. Each court is painted with one of the two bold colors featured on the MB.01 “Queen City” style, while also donning LaMelo’s signature wings and “1 of 1” designs.
Enjoy a closer look at the pair ahead, and find the shoes available at PUMA.com and select outposts on March 18th with a price tag of $120 USD.
