Mere moments after the Nike Mac Attack officially returned to stores, we’re being treated with an official look at a brand new, never-before-release colorway.
Dubbed the “Red Crush”, the iconic 1984 model appears in a simplistic white/red color combination that would have certainly existed in the 1980s had Nike chosen to move forward with production of John McEnroe’s signature shoe. In case you didn’t know, there are only two OG colorways – the grey/black that just dropped, and a white/black version that was far less in circulation.
Unlike those aforementioned pairs, which featured the black/blue checkerboard pattern on the tongue, this “Red Crush” release introduces a new tan/white checker pattern on the tongue. The remainder of the shoe’s build remains consistent with the true-to-the-OG build, complete with the printed numbers and letters on the interior sockliner.
A release date has yet to surface, but hopefully Nike will be much more liberal with circulation.
