As Bill Bowerman’s response to the technical demands of competitive runners, the Nike Cortez has since grown into an icon on the silver screen, on skateboards and within concrete jungles across the world. For its latest installment, the classic 1972 solution dresses in a vintage monochrome effort exclusive to the ladies.
Joining the recently revealed “Midnight Navy” ensemble dipped in suede accents, a woven nylon textile accounts for a majority of the upper’s real estate. Jet-black hues douse the latter two textures while transitioning to the role of an accent at the embroidered heel and see-saw sole unit. Meanwhile, the leather mid-foot Swoosh and heel tab conjoin with the tongue logo and midsole for a gleaming white contrast in closing.
The women’s-exclusive Nike Cortez “Black/White” is scheduled to release on August 4th for a retail price of $90. In the meantime, enjoy a detailed look at the pair below.
